This resturant may have the best ambiance I've eaten in. It is intimidate dining room set inside a grand atrium - perhaps 4 stories tall. The food was very good as well. The price is steep but we were celebrating our love of Fes so we could easily justify it. It's really worth the experience!

The interior of the Dar is reason enough to go, but the French cuisine is of high quality and the whole experience a pleasure. Wine and beer are available.

If you arrive a few minutes early, you are welcomed to site in the side parlor (alkove) with comfortable historic chairs and lounges next to a wood based fire in the fireplace. Here you can enjoy a drink or some fresh local almonds and pistachios before your meal. Did you know that they grow and produce wine in Morocco? The... More

Good menu - modern fusion of Moroccan/Mediterranean/European - fairly priced, and with enough choice for most I imagine. We could have chosen several things from it. Short but sound wine list - we had an outstanding local wine called La Petite Ferme. Service subtle and quiet, but spot on. Food was well cooked and presented. The dining room is not... More

While we had seen that you should call for reservations, we were unable to (technology reasons), but decided to see if we could go over - if they were full, we would just have a drink at the bar and leave. Fortunately for us, they had one table left. The food was outstanding - cooked perfectly, we couldn't have been... More

What an amazing restaurant. To begin with it is a little hard to find , but they sent someone to my Riad to escort us to the restaurant so we would not get lost. The food was spectacular as well as impeccable service. If you are going to Fes, you must eat here!!!!!

This restaurant is rated as the best in Fes both in TripAdvisor and LonelyPlanet. But it's far from being that special. We were picked up from our ryad and dropped off, which was good because we would not have been able to find the restaurant on our own since it was in the medina and hard to find. The person... More

Went here with my husband for my birthday dinner while on vacation in Morocco. Delicious meal, fancy place with just a few tables, very romantic and beautifully set in a riad. Highly recommend.

Set in a real nice traditional house in the medina of Fes, Dar Roumana is for sure a top Moroccan dinning experience... great atmosphere, service and food, all for a fair price! Don't mind the long walk back to your riad (the restaurant is a bit off of the beaten track)... you will have another great experience walking the empty...... More

Remarkable decor, delicious food -- a break from the traditional Moroccan fare, which we loved but it gets tiring after a while -- elegance, hospitality, an incredible night. It's hard to find Dar Roumana but worth the hunt (use your smart phone GPS) to escape into its luxurious experience.

Description
An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. Reservations essential.
