This is one of those restaurants one most visit once in Algiers. It’s not that it has an exquisite cuisine, or ambiance but it’s really a trip to Algiers past lively life. The first two rooms are a great example of it. Dark washed wooden walls makes it a cosy and comfortable place to envoy a meal. There is a... More

Excellent unexpected discovery. Very popular with locals. Good meats. Alcohol served and attentive service - something you don't always get here.

I am yet to find good service in Algeria. However the staff do there best to cater to guest. Typical international food (very French) restaurant. One of the oldest in Algiers. Off didouche mourad street. Local average wine, however the food is good, tasty, with nice surrounding if you are sitting in the "garden". inside is too dark and sad.... More

Food good (great bread!) and waiters attentive but not pushy. General style here compares with Jenina but more relaxed and less .... pretentious. And better value for money. The terrace looks like a fun place to eat but often very busy. Shame there's not a No Smoking area. But I guess that's a Big Ask in Algiers!

some friends suggested me the caracoya for a businness dinner in Alger:the terrace was full, so we have to stay inside. the atmosphere is a little gloomy, and yes indoor smoking is allowed.apparently the speciality is seafood, but I took a sword fish and was pretty tasteless. all in all expensive for was you get,.

Very Cozy, nice service, the old fashoned atmosphere adds lots of charm to the place, specially in the outer section, and being located in the city center.. But always parking problems so you have to go there after shops closing. Very tasty food and big selection... I was surprised that they have 2 menus one for the hose and one... More

Best service, best food, best drink. We went 9 friends and we all ask for different plates and entries. The fish is great, big and fresh (4500 DZD/kg). Most plates varies between 1500 to 2000 DZD. Good selection of Wine and authentic bottles. ( almost all restaurants that serve alchool serve you FAKE bottles). So be carefull. Deserts are great.... More

If you are ever looking for a good place to eat in the city center, go for le caracoya! More than a restaurant it's an experience that starts behind a plain door. It's got the feeling of a club but the service of a good place. The indoor terrace with a little water fountain can accomodate over 50 people and... More

This place has apparently been in business since 1966, and has hardly changed - in a good way. It looks closed, but a ring on the door bell will see you led in to atmospheric restaurant, with two indoor dining rooms, and a large covered terrace out the back. The speciality of the house was fish, and as you're looking... More
