Ok, so I am Indian and visited Ooloonthoo with a group of friends, who are also Indian. Clearly, we were going in with high expectations. I have say, without question, that the four of us walked away from the best Indian food that we had ever had, outside of our mother's kitchens. Everything was perfectly balanced and flavorful, without being... More

We ate at Ooloonthoo on our recent visit to Roatan. This is a husband/wife team that used to own a restuarant in West Bay and decided to move their restuarant to their home. They basically serve two tables a night and it is by reservation only. The menu is fixed price and includes appetizer and entre. There are about 5-6... More

We went to Ooloonthoo as two couples from our resort hotel. We expected great authentic Indian cuisine and that is exactly what we got. The setting is beautiful and everything was described perfectly. Butter Chicken, Shrimp, Lamb, and Curry Beef were delightfully delicious. What a truly great meal, and something so different from what were had been having--that it was... More

By far, this was one of the best restaurant experiences my husband and I have had in a long, long time. Every detail, from the setting to the service is top notch. The couple who owns and runs this restaurant are incredibly nice, warm and inviting. They truly want you to have the best experience possible. We made reservations via... More

Paul and Soden are expats who in youngish adulthood spent 3 years in India with Soden's families on a 'culinary exchange' - Paul, a trained chef taught north american dishes, and received, in turn, homemade master classes in various Indian cuisines [we chatted with Soden for a bit each time she brought dishes - she's charming and affable]. Not a... More

I once before wrote a review of this restaurant, but am compelled to do so gain. I want to emphasize that I have no connection or relationship with the restaurant or its owners. We return simply because of the amazing experience we consistently have there. By chance my wife and I ate there last night, and I was taken aback... More

After receiving an email confirmation, we took a taxi to Ooloonthoo. Our reservation was for 7pm, March 7th. Upon arrival, restaurant was closed. We did not receive any notification that we should not come etc. Dissappointing and poor care of customers.

Ooloonthoo is a small, owner operated restaurant and over the course of the past ten years, we have demonstrated an uncommon commitment to quality and customer service as shown in the many excellent reviews posted here on Trip Advisor. We operate by reservation only and as such, we are definitely not in the business of closing our doors to people... More

This place is one of those special gems on the planet. Reservations are required. On the evening my husband and I had chosen, it turned out that we were the only table that had booked. As we climbed the steps to the outdoor dining pavilion, we see one table, set with 2 wine glasses and a candle. The entire experience... More

This was our first time eating Indian cuisine and we were not dissapointed. We had gotten there after the sun had set and can only imagine how wonderful the sunset view would have been had we made a slightly earlier reservation. Dinner is by reservation only and on our night we were the only two eating so it was pretty... More
