The Maya Beach Hotel Bistro is a top of the line restaurant choice in Placencia! The chef uses local fresh seafood and produce for creative tasty dishes of Caribbean excellence. There is an extensive wine menu which is rare. The staff is experienced and eager to please. Plus, you cannot beat the view!

Amazing staff! So friendly and inviting. The fact that they remembered us from the night before, made this a place we had to go to a third time. The cuisine is not only original, but everything, literally, is worth trying. Trina and Cedric offer the best service and local recommendations; and make sure you end your evening with the peanut... The food at my hotel was wondering and authentic. I enjoyed the environment, the welcoming kind staff and of course the food. For dinner I had the Shrimp Po Boy in a Belizean Fry Jack. I was gooood. I think I will try to make this at home. It came with potatoes wedges, which were good too (just a little... More

Ate here our first night. Food was great. Order the lobster sandwich. It was the best. Specials were delicious. Coconut shrimp was very spicy but good. Atmosphere was good also.

The food is really tasty, though some of their dishes are a bit strange. The view is magnificent, right on the beach, however for dinner, mosquitoes were a major problem for us. Wear long pants.

First off, Ellen the owner is a true delight. She always has time to visit your table and gives great advice on local attractions. Chef Mary Kay is bizarrely creative. We tried (unsuccessfully) 7 times in 5 days to find something there that was mediocre. Every meal was outstanding. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. It was a short walk, bike ride,... More

My husband and I were staying down the road and we would venture each morning to here for the most amazing breakfast. The food was amazing...pricing was spot on...breathtaking view and the staff was very accommodating. We will definitely be back for more yummy goodness on our next trip to Belize.

This popular restaurant did not disappoint. Our Roasted Garlic appetizer had all of us promising to learn how to duplicate. I had the angel hair pasta..cooked perfectly and added the shrimp. Plenty to eat and well seasoned. The Snook ( a firm white flaky fish) got rave reviews by my foodie friend. The menu is interesting and it was hard... More

Description
We're certainly far from perfect, but we do try our best to create a winning experience for every single customer, whether they are hotel guests, Belizean neighbors or travelers staying at other hotels. Try pairing small plates with wines, choose from our creative main courses, or just enjoy some comfort food for breakfast or lunch. It's fun for us to meet new people and, well, just make them happy! Our casual beach bistro focuses on unique sauces and contemporary, tropical-themed flavor combinations while maintaining comfortable portions. Lots of fish and seafood. Bar service includes a 130-bottle wine list, local beer, rum drinks, and house specials. The outdoor atmosphere is casual so you can be comfortable in flip flops. Belize's "Restaurant of the Year" award was presented twice to the Bistro in June 2011 and May 2013.
