Stopped in here after bringing my family to Ashcroft. Called the day before and told them we would stop in, but did not know what time. Upon entering the restaurant they asked for the party name, I told them we did not make any reservation and was sarcastically told "Oh, we just love surprises", which I didn't appreciate. I have... We are in shock. After having confirmed reservations through the Little Nell for 4/3/2015 with taxi and sleigh for the birthday of my husband, we get cancellation this morning. We see an ad for the restaurant in the Aspen daily today 4/3/2015, we call to try again and get the message that they are closed since 3/31!!!!! You can be... More

As visitors know, Aspen has recently experienced an early spring. The weather and snow conditions this year resulted in our having to close our mountain restaurant early for the season. The horse drawn sleigh ride and the ski/snow shoe tour are the only way to reach our restaurant in the winter and we could not risk injury to the horses... More

Our group of mixed ages skied and rode the sleigh for lunch on a bluebird Aspen day. The food is excellent as was the service and the setting is one of the most gorgeous places anywhere.

I love the entire experience that the Cookhouse offers. We have been for dinner twice and both times have skied in. I love that a guide does not come to babysit you. Half way in you're all alone in a vast valley surrounded by mountains with nothing but the stars overhead - breathtaking! It's a good hike in too, not... More

Rarely does one get the chance to strap on snowshoes and trek into a valley to reach a remote cabin at the foot of a mountain - but here you do. For those who are a touch less adventurous or less willing to work up a sweat before a meal, there is also a charming horse drawn sleigh that will... More

Sometimes it's not just the food that makes a restaurant memorable. Our special lunch was during a 4 hour snowshoe trip to Ashcroft Ghost Town. Two of us had snowshoed; two of us had not. It was a beautiful day and the scenery to the Pine Creek Cookhouse spectacular. We earned the right to eat whatever we wanted and we... More

This was my third visit to Pine Creek Cookhouse. The first visit was over 20 years ago so I have vague memories of that experience. Second time was just a few months ago when we went to a wedding here. This weekend, we took our kids and another family here for dinner as we thought this would be a fun... More

Every part of the experience from start to finish was amazing! The staff at the starting cabin is super friendly and helpful getting you set up with top notch gear (they have boots in case you didn't pack them). Snowshoeing through a wooded but well marked path is breathtaking. Recommend the night experience so you can see the sunset colors... More

Visited the Pine Creek Cookhouse today and enjoyed a delicious trout meal. The 2 km walk to the venue along a snow covered road was a good workout and made ordering a main and dessert relatively guilt free! Our table was well looked after by an attentive young man, and my only bit of feedback I might offer is that... More
