Our meal at the Wild Fid was memorable and part of an excellent stop in Aspen to ski. The service was attentive from start to finish. The food was delicious - we especially enjoyed the halibut over crab risotto and the delicious fish stew. The scene was lively, and the crowd was Interesting and international. This is a great place to reserve if you want to enjoy Aspen to its fullest.

We stopped by with reservations for a birthday celebration at our scheduled time but were told our table was not available and we could either sit at the bar or on a bench outside until it was ready. For a Monday night the restaurant was very busy.
The menu had several changes from our last visit and my favorite meal was no longer offered. The fig salad was still available and was excellent. Bread was brought to the table and with the olive oil on the table it was a nice start.
The pasta entree we enjoyed was the right size and was full of flavor. The peach cheesecake and the pistachio gelato were excellent.
Our waiter and the rest of the staff were very busy throughout the evening and that explained the slow service. Nothing was mentioned about the birthday even though it was specifically mentioned when the reservation was made.

Really nice cosy restaurant with friendly staff and tasty food. The waiter was not pushy like you see in some other American places. The food was European with a twist. I had the mussels with fries; I loved the mussels however did not expect spicy fries. The champagne is also recommended

We visit Aspen on a regular basis and will often eat at Wild Fig. Not anymore. This time the service was slow, the waiter took a long time in coming over to take our drink order as we watched him rushing around the room.
The food was disappointing. My wife asked for the salad to be chopped, which it wasn’t, I asked that the soup would be extra hot and it was barely lukewarm, the portions were small, and my fish was dry. I also ordered a glass of wine at the upper end of the price scale and I would’ve thought that I would’ve found one of them enjoyable, but they were both pretty mediocre (syrupy) and overpriced. When the waiter asked how everything was we told him. You would’ve thought that the manager would’ve come over but he did not.
Wild Fig had a pretty good run. Too bad it’s over.

We chose it following the excellent reviews and for the particular type of menu. We received an appropriate service and we are quite honest in saying even very good food (that's why we give 2 and not 1), but the surprise came when we returned to Europe: not only did they charge us a totally discretionary tip (much higher than what we decided, receipts in hand), but when we contacted them to ask for explanations, they viewed the messages without a single word to answer. I wouldn't have expected it from a place of this level

Joined local friends at one of their favorite spots and all came away disappointed. Two of us ordered the special leek risotto with sea bass. Service was very slow, portions were small, and fish was dry/overcooked. I had to look for wait staff to process our payment. To top it all off, we realized the next morning that the charge for “special” risotto was $75.00 per. Outrageous ripoff in a restaurant where the highest price menu item is whole fish of the day for $58.00. We will not return on our next visit, nor will our local friends. Beware the Aspen ripoff!

We just got spit out the other end of the “Wild Fig” conveyor belt and thought we should advise those about to become their next sausage.
The warning signs were first apparent when the Liverpudlian Maître D' apologized to us for keeping us waiting a few minutes for our table by explaining that he wished that the chairs in his restaurant came with wheels so that he could push patrons out into the street (when they ceased to be economically viable for him). YIKES!
It finished on exactly the same theme with the staff hurrying us out of the restaurant with 1/3 of our bottle of wine still outside our reach. Either give us the wine at the table to serve ourselves or finish pouring the wine we purchased before you enquire (once again) whether we’d like to pay the bill you delivered to the table while we were still eating, would you?
I’m pleased for the restaurant owners that they are (way too) busy, but we were looking for something other than a conveyor belt experience for our $100/person night out.
[And BTW, for those Covid-sensitive, this place is jam-packed (think totally pre-pandemic, inside and out) with lots of really raised voices to get above the background crowd noise. And we all know how we project aerosols when we raise our voice 😉.]
Not next time…

I made a reservation a month ago. This restaurant has been one of most favorite places to eat in Aspen. We get there, and they put us at a table where all the waiters and customers keep bumping into us. I politely asked if we could have one of the open 2 tables outside, and the rude hostess says, YEAH, I know you made your reservations a month ago, but someone made reservations for those two tables a month in a half ago. REALLY?

Not a very encouraging experience. The ravioli was overcooked and watery, the filet mignon, ordered rare, was greyish. And it is not compulsory to ask how things are, but it would have been appreciated if the waiter had shown any kind of interest between taking the orders and handing out the check.

Hi we were very lucky to get a same day prime time patio reservation through our amazing Little Nell concierge Joe. We ordered two appetizers, two pastas, the whole fish, veal scallopine and the filet. It is truly hard to say which of those items was the best but I can tell you that the four foodies at the table were impressed with every single bite. Even the desserts were spectacular and the young sommelier was knowledgeable, personable and asked good questions to bring us some great wines. Can’t wait to go back!

We have been coming to Aspen for 46 years and have seen great restaurants come and go. We had failed to try Wild Fig until this year and were surprised to learn it had been in business for 16 years. It was a real find for us.
It is a small intimate bistro restaurant with excellent food. It was one of the best dinners we have had in Aspen over the years. My seafood stew could not be better and my wife's veal scaloppini and Greek salad were perfect. Beware of the green peppers in the salad - there were many.
I tried to make reservations all over town with one day's notice and found it disconcerting. When I called the Wild Fig, there was a pleasant live voice that was most helpful and accommodating. That in itself was a big plus.
My only complaint was the price. The food was priced like the rest of Aspen - expensive, but I thought the prices for both glasses and bottles of wine a bit over the top. It would also be good to have lower priced selections on the wine list
It would be good if they had a bar menu.
We will be back.

We had dinner here last night for the first time this year. We were here 3 times last year. The food remains exceptional overall, some of the very best in Aspen. We had mussels & frites, French onion soup, linguine & clam sauce, and whole bronzino. The sauce in the linguine & clam sauce was thick and heavy handed, not to our liking for in our opinion what should be delicately prepared dish. The mussels were perfectly prepared and the sauce was excellent. The frites were crunchy and deliciously seasoned. The French onion soup was spot on. The bronzino was the overall star of the night........it could not have been better in any way! Unfortunately, the service last night was lacking. I’m glad it wasn’t bad enough to ruin our meal but, we just didn’t get enough attention. Our waiter did not deliver our entrees and no one followed up to see if we wanted/needed anything else. We would have had more wine and likely dessert too if we weren’t annoyed by it. Knowing that we only choose to eat at restaurants known for their culinary prowess, the primary reason that we eat out vs cooking at home, is for someone else to provide the service. Since COVID, we’ve only eaten out while in Aspen for 3 weeks. I am a generous tipper but only left 15% as I refuse to punish a server who was kind but, I assume, off his game. We will be back with the expectation and hope for a perfect dinner.

Had dinner with another couple. Ambiance, service and food was very good. I was disappointed as the written menu on the mirrored glass was not updated - I was hoping for the ribeye with blue cheese. I ordered the grilled octopus for my starter - outstanding especially with the ginger chili oil. My main plate was the veal loin scaloppini (complemented the grilled octopus exceptionally well). Sommelier and server were engaged and professional. We had a wonderful time.

With both indoor and outdoor dining socially distanced, we chose the outdoor experience. On a pleasant evening it was a good decision to sit outside and watch people walk by as we enjoyed our dinners.
The fig salad, lamb, and pasta we chose were delicious and our waiter had a very nice personality. We had a delightful experience.

Met a wonderful local couple who seemed to know every bar tender in town at Aspen Highlands, they recommended the live music at the Red Onion and the Wild Fig. We were going to skip the Fig as it only had a 4.2 on Google. It was reservation only but we found a place at the bar. Bar tender Steve quickly picked up on the the Hemingway's, the menu was killer yet almost everyone ordered a special. We were asked to make room at the bar and were rewarded with home made Limoncello. Yes the food was excellent, the company was excellent. I'm going to have to go back and read these reviews, we ate at several excellent places here and the Fig was the best of the trip.
