My mom, son and I enjoyed our lunch here. The staff was friendly and prompt. The food here is delicious!

La Penca is great!! It's open late, one of the only places around open late with fresh hot delicious food. Eat there or take it home - it's just as good at home!

We were looking for a place after 11pm and saw the crowd so stopped. The host said if we wanted to sit on the basically taqueria side we would not wait. Great choice. I look for two things in in 'real' mexican restaurant - locals eating there and some of the more obscure dishes - they were both there -... More

I've been coming for years for the deep fired snapper, crab enchiladas and burritos the size of a small baby. A great deal of the staff have been here for years and they really treat you like family. They have an outrageous selection of tequila and a decent sized bar area. The wait can be long at times due to... More

Just good solid Texas Mexico with some interesting twists. Dig through the menu for some surprises. Darned good drinks as elk and lots of Tequila choices if you ate up for tasting different kinds

The three guys manning the bar were going 90 miles an hour; scored bar stools late afternoon. Had happy hour carnitos tacos and "mini" chimichangas. More than enough for a meal. Only downside was all the people hovering for a seat. Bar food was 5-6 bucks. Great deal.

There are two locations. One is on Park Street, and the one I enjoy is on Bay farm Island in the shopping center across from the library. Good Mexican food. I like to order a short order of tacos, enough to fill me up. Try their super burrito or spicey shrimp dishes. Good prices, great service.
