As soon as we walked in, the place was bustling with people. There was quite a long wait to be seated as the place was heaving, but the colourful bar kept us busy. They had a great selection of unique cocktails for those who drink,...More

Stumbled on Oyamel on a recent visit. Could not have been happier. Our server was wonderful and helpful with suggestions. From the salt foam margaritas and handmade chips, salsa, and guacamole to the small plate selections (which just got better and better) to the coffee...More

My friend told me Oyamel has the best margarita with sea salt foam on top, that I should try. She was absolutely right, this was something totally new! Great taste, I love salt and especially on top of margarita. The place seemed very busy, nice...More

We planned our visit to DC with a reservation at Oyamel for 7:30pm on Sunday 7/5/15. We arrived at the restaurant around 5:40pm and stated that we would just put our name in for the next open table and they could delete our reservation. The...More

We had the prix fixe and it was epic. One of the best nights / experience we've had in a long time. Margaritas rock, as does the guac. We immediately booked to come back the next night. So good!

Good food, ambiance and great margaritas. Food comes in small portions so by the time you have had enough to eat, you have racked-up a sizable bill. Still worth it but don't walk in expecting a bargain. For instance, my two boys consumed $32 worth...More

Love the Oyamel Margarita with its salty foam topping. Guacamole made tableside to your liking -mild, medium, or spicy. Octopus is amaaaaazing. Variety of ceviche dishes- my favorite is the striped bass. Crispy Brussels sprouts were excellent. Only thing that didn't wow me was the...More

Took the family here for lunch. They have a tapas style menu. My wife loved the tacos as did my children. I ordered the brisket taco and it was easily THE BEST TACO I have ever eaten in my entire life. We started off with...More

Went here for lunch and I was pretty happy overall with every aspect of my meal. Everything is good, the atmosphere, the service, the food, but nothing stands out as anything better than pretty good. The Atmosphere is light and airy with a neat theme,...More

Description
Oyamel combines Mexico's rich regional diversity with the modern urban atmosphere of Mexico City. The liveliness of the dining room is matched by the creativity of the menu and cocktail list, featuring antojitos-Mexican small plates-ceviches and tacos, plus unique margaritas, and an impressive array of wines and tequilas.

Originally opened in 2004 in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, Oyamel moved to its current home in the Penn Quarter in March of 2007.
