We celebrated a special occasion with 17 family members at the Chef's Table and the meal and service exceeded our expectations. Marvina, the Private Event Coordinator, was a great help in assisting us with the menu and she kept in contact with us throughout the...More

The food was very good, but in order to be excellent, the chef might try to offer fewer foods that are loaded with garlic.

This was outstanding. The food was some of the best I have had anywhere in the US. The Fois Gras and lobster was phenomenal. The duck and the veal chop were outstanding. I would recommend the brocolini, mushrooms and grits as sides. The apple pie...More

Three of us dined for the first time at this beautiful restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive, and very helpful, throughout our un-rushed meal. My appetizer of fluke crudo had "too many notes". It would have been better without the cucumber and with a...More

We visited this restaurant and sat outside, there is also the option to sit inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the blue duck tavern, the food was excellent and service was very good to go with it. For starter, we had the crab which...More

Despite the reviews, we found the breakfast here very average - omelette was OK, waffle was good. I think If we hadnt had such high expectations perhaps we'd be more impressed, but given its reputation, I'd take it or leave it.

I booked very quickly based on great reviews and thinking "Tavern" sounded quaint and very D.C. Well I got that wrong. The Blue Duck is a stylish modern restaurant located in the Park Hyatt hotel. The nod to Tavern decor are the sleek, modern shaker...More

This review is my opinion only. It goes against the rest of the reviews posted here. The restaurant is lovely. My friend and I ate breakfast there. The price was $84.30 for two with only a coffee drink. So if you want to spend that...More

My daughter turns 3 y.o. in November, and we'll be travelling those days... is this place ok for a small child? There will be just she, her grandma and me, so we'd like to have just a small dinner to celebrate. Still, I would like to pre-order a small cake or anything special for her to blow candles. Could I do it?

Description
Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern. The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.
