The good things about this place are definitively the wood fired oven and the service. Very friendly and speedy although it was not too busy when we ate here. The sauce is good and not sweat, arugula fresh, great ham and decent mozerella (no bufela I fear). The pizza itself is thin crusted and crispy and they all look exactly... More

We travel to DC fairly often and tend to stay near the Penn Quarter/Chinatown area. Given we're from the Midwest and travel frequently to Chicago, we seek to compare various pizza establishments. We stumbled upon Ella's in our quest for pizza. My wife and I shared a pepperoni and cheese pizza which was a bit of a challenge in that... More

Ate here with my family. Son got sausage pizza, wife got pepperoni and I got the one with peppers onions and egg plant. I liked my pizza because I like to try different things. My wife and son are a little more picky. They liked the pizza, but didn't "rave" about it (I think it's because it has less sauce... More

Been here several times. Ella's has become my go-to place (before or after) for events at Verizon or Ford's. This is classic Neapolitan crust pizza and I absolutely love the sausage topping because it has a unique sweetness on top of the classic Italian sausage flavor; just delightful. Nice variety of beers on tap. Awesome staff. Been there with in-laws,... More

It's right next to the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro station and a block or two away Verizon Center. The owner is really nice and he's even from my hometown: New York! (He's also a Mets fan, so we had a good, long conversation.) Now, on to the food. I had their saffron and seafood risotto which was top notch for sure!... More

Highly recommended by the hotel staff. Good pizza, but a little light on the toppings. This one of the places that has a few people waiting on you - one to take your order, one to bring water, one to ring drinks, one to bring the order. Had quite the family turn-out for a mid-week dinner.

We chose Ella's as one of the Scouts in our group has a severe food allergy and Ella's worked with us to make sure that she was safe. That was excellent. That being said, the food was not memorable and the service was fine, but not exemplary.

We were staying very close and found Ella's through Trip Advisor. We visited on a Monday evening. It was quite quiet. Service was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Both may husband and I had starters and pizzas. Good choice for both. Couldn't eat desserts as we were too full. Nice surprise was that the bottle of... More

We came for the happy hour and enjoyed ourselves. We tried several of their 7" pizzas and they were all fresh and delicious. My husband had the margaritas and stated they were pretty good. We sat in the bar area and had excellent service.

My friend can I stop by Ella's Pizza before we headed to a Caps game. Overall, the service is pretty fast and in the pizza is pretty good. I came here mainly because I used the Spotluck app and got 20% off whatever I ordered. (I definitely recommend that app and it's a great way to try out restaurants you... More
