Once again I returned to the Taberna del Alabardero for dinner on a Thursday after several meetings. The service was fantastic and we decided to start our meal with Jamon and followed it up with "Dorada Al Sal". The server did think that the fish was not ready and send it back to the kitchen for some heat, to make... More

Loved our dinner last night at Taberna del Alabardero at 1776 I St NW, Washington, DC! Awesome, true, authentic Spanish experience.  If you don't believe the roots of this place, just look at its other locations - MADRID, SEVILLA, MALAGA, MARBELLA, and SAN PEDRO DE ALCANTARA.  DC is truly lucky to have it. Everything from entrance, Bar area, Dining area,... More

Outside of Spain and of some Latin American countries this would be my choice for a truly Spain flavor and ambience restaurant The squid ink rice or black paella is a must for me every time I go there Some very good cheese selection and tapas There is a small bar that's perfect if you go alone

I have visited this restaurant together with an expert. That's to say, with a spanish friend who assured me this was the best spanish restaurant in DC. I can agree with that. We experienced a wonderful lunch with coleagues, where he had the opportunity to taste some of the best tapas and of course a delicious paelha.

This is a white table cloth restaurant with a beautiful red interior. Service was good and I ordered the business lunch menu for $32. It was a good deal I think. This is an upscale restaurant. The appetizer soup was good but nothing extra. The highlight was the grilled sardines main dish. It was very delicious and perfectly cooked. It... More

We were in DC for the historic event of swearing in of the 45th President of USA. This was a bucket list of things to do (75 years young) and we decided day before to go. We had no special tickets and walked and stood for 5 hours. After the ceremony we sought a refuge and found it in Taberna... More

Unfortunately, food was not great. Maybe Spanish food is just not for me. There was nothing wrong with the food, I just didn't enjoy it.

I was on my own, hungry and tired! I was well received, well advised, and well attended to. One of the best meals I have ever had - reminded me so much of Sevilla! The service is incredible - a real team!

We had a late lunch/early dinner at this restaurant after participating in the Women's March. Although we walked in off the street an hour before the restaurant officially opened for dinner, the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. I am a stickler for good service and this restaurant was top notch. I ordered tapas: cheese plate, shrimp casserole and fried... More

My son requested his birthday dinner here as a nod to spending last summer in Madrid. It was spectacular. The opulent decor and welcoming staff made us smile the moment we entered. We shared a variety of tapas to start and particularly enjoyed their pan con tomate bread which was very similar to bruschetta. When I had a question about... More
