This hopping spot has to be the busiest in Washington DC! We had a reservation but friends decided to join us so we were a larger party but they happily accommodated us. They offer several bars in which to wait for an available table, there...More

We ate here for dinner. Restaurant was packed, but we quickly found seating at bar. Full menu available at the bar. I had the Reuben and my son had the meatloaf. It was so good! We’ll be back!

Visited this place twice for lunch during our short stay in DC. The restaurant is pretty old and interesting, nand there is a great buzz about the place. Very busy, and you might have to wait a few minutes at peak times for a table, but...More

The food was good, the bread was excellent. Waitress took a lot of time describing different items on the menu for us. If you're going for lunch I'd suggest getting there before noon bc it filled up fast.

I am sorry for the delay. The lighting is very subdued. There were no flashing lights and the bar area is dim. The dining area is well lit but not "bright white".

Established in 1856, the Old Ebbitt Grill was a favorite of Presidents Grant, Cleveland, Harding, and Theodore Roosevelt. The restaurant's decor is comprised of a Beaux-Arts facade, mahogany and velvet booths, and bars set in marble, brass, and beveled glass. Old Ebbitt serves a diverse selection of food including steaks, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and also features an Oyster Bar with oysters form both coasts. Open early for breakfast and weekend brunch, and serving lunch, dinner and a late-night menu. Private and semi-private dining rooms including a rooftop overlooking the monuments and The White House.
