The food portions - hamburgers- were ok but very small. An extra side such as mashed potatoes was overpriced at $7.50. Who can eat in a restaurant with these costs and small portions ? Only people with excessive wealth. Cut down the overhead, have fewer waiters standing around doing nothing, and provide better portions of food. Fewer and fewer people... More

The house made tater tots are a must. They are a cross between a potato puff and a cheese puff and really have very little in common with a frozen tater tot. It would be worth a repeat visit to have them again. The lobster roll was a good but a bit stingy on the lobster. The key lime pie... More

Classically styled bar, with average food and senseless prices. I had the prime rib ($31.10) which was nothing exceptional. I asked for medium rare, it was more medium. See photo. About a third of the cut was fat. My wife had the seafood risotto ($26.90), which consisted of a small filet of sea bass, which she enjoyed, two cold scallops,... More

A friend and I gave this place a visit on Xmas Eve as everything else was closed. Warm and cosy atmosphere with sports on the TV, attentive staff, decent selection of beers and some tasty food (we had burgers). Not the cheapest, but it's DC.

I went here because I had my dog with me and it was raining and a little chilly so not many place had their outdoor seating open. My waitress was very friendly and made sure my dog had water. Their patio is not right on top of the street, which I like. Their food was just ok. I had the... More

Visited DC and stayed at the hotel across the street. First night ate at this restaurant, very good. Last eve it was raining, so instead of searching for another place, stopped in again. Great. Such pleasant servers and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend and prices are great.

We were cold, we were tired of walking, and we were hungry. Unfortunately, every restaurant we walked into was closed between lunch and dinner. (Must be an East Coast thing.) Finally we stumbled into PJ Clarke's, and what a welcoming sight it was. Checked tableclothes, wooden chairs, nice bar -- it was all so warm and inviting. The hostess was... More

We stopped by as we out and about in town. The have a great selection of seafood at their raw bar. Everyone who sampled seafood thought it was very good and fresh. I had an order of the fried calamari. It was very lightly breaded, fried and seemed to be handcut. The pieces were not your typical rings that come... More

I wouldn't waste my time or money on this place. The décor doesn't match the menu prices..............do they think their a high end steak house? The manager on duty couldn't care less about it's customers or the quality of it's food. Serving a hamburger medium to medium rare isn't expectable and when I sent it back my wife was already... K Street, the road to the White House, is also the proud home to P.J. Clarke’s—the storied American Saloon with a history that dates back to the late 1800s. The original P.J. Clarke’s in Manhattan has stood beneath rows of skyscrapers for nearly 130 years, collecting famous and infamous regulars. Appreciated for the convivial ambiance and classic fare, P.J. Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon.
In our nation’s capitol, the story continues as oak and mosaic floors, red leather banquets and walls lined with eccentric portraits and nostalgic photos contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.s, but also construe a distinct Washington sensibility. Seasoned bartenders make favorite classic cocktails the right way; dexterous shuckers ply the freshest shellfish at a marble topped Raw Bar; and the old-school, convivial dining room welcomes government A-listers, students and their families and visitors to our capitol.
