Reviewed yesterday NEW

We came in quite late one evening for dinner without a reservation. We got seated immediately and service was quite quick. The menu is not extensive, but has solid classic options. The food we ordered was very good, well cooked and flavorful. Overall a great choice as long as you are fine with a slightly bland, hotel-y atmosphere.

My husband and I ate lunch here last week. The Brussels sprouts were fabulous. I had a spinach salad with shrimp and he had chicken Milanese. Both were amazing! Our new favorite restaurant in DC. There aren't enough circles to properly rate Ris!

Everything worked well for our business meeting. Those arriving early had an enjoyable stop over at the bar with both stools and tables. Dinner was excellent--from a fine and reasonably priced small wine selection to salads to entrees, cheese boards and more. The restaurant was quiet enough for us to conduct a business discussion. For larger groups there are private... More

The RItz Carlton Hotel suggested the RIS for our birthday celebration meal. We LOVED the atmosphere, the attention to detail, the great service, and most of all the flavor of the food. The entrees were unique, delightfully flavored, and beautifully presented. A side dish is not required with their generous portions. We would absolutely return to this restaurant.

Upon arrival, the hosts are professional, but not very warm. The room is rather cold. It could certainly benifit from some artwork, some white tablecloths, some nice music, some lower lights, and some nice aromas. It was not crowded on a Tuesday at 7:30, when every other resturant I looked at seemed filled. It was not overly noisy, which I... More

A wise choice for our family Easter brunch again this year, RIS is a standout among restaurants in Washington. The 2-course brunch menu was terrific with a number of appetizers that set the stage for a host of traditional and creative entrees. We chose a strawberry salad and a bowl of carrot soup to start the meal followed by two... More

Not quite French haute cuisine, not quite French country, with a little Mediterranean note. Thoughtful menu, with some lovely, different choices, something to appeal to anyone. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we had.

RIS is elegant without being stuffy. The food is excellent American/ bistro style food. This was my second time visiting RIS while i am in town on business. They did not disappoint. Last night we had the meat and potatoes chef's choice. It may have been one of the best cooked beef tenderloins ever. I also recommend the Thai fried... More

Lamb chop was the best we have ever had. And for dessert, the butterscotch pudding is absolutely amazing. A must have.
