We took a day tour in Akaroa to see the dolphins and the bus driver told us about this fish and chips shop which she claimed it's the best in town! We took the advice and had an early lunch here. The seafood chowder was thick and generous with its ingredients. The fish & chips was freshly fried and big... More

Freshly made fish and chips and your choice of drinks. Fish is nice and crispy and enough chips to fill you up. Tip: keep an eye on your food, seagulls like fish and chips as well.

Great fish 'n chips and a perfect spot to take in the town. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch and enjoying the authentic nature of this place. As simple as it is you will feel like you are a part of the town, not just on holiday.

We visited Akaroa our the weekend . Got fish and chips on Saturday night . The standard has slipped since we last had them from here. The Hoki fish itself was ok if expensive at $8.00 but the batter was half cooked and falling off the fish. The chips were ok . The special treat of a donut was in... More

Disappointly, no cod available. Advised one portion of chips would be large enough for 2 of us but, just to be safe, ordered 2. Glad we did as even this didn't fill us! And, was told to p**s off, albeit jokingly, when I asked for beans. Which is not cool. Or friendly. Finally, @ 6 30 pm, we were served... More

Always a stopping place when the family and I visit Akaroa. The cost is a little higher than you would find elsewhere but the quality makes up for that. The premises is clean and the staff are quick and efficient. I always think that the busier a business, this is a good indication of how good it is and even... More

We got into akaroa after a Long drive, we were so glad we managed to try the fish n chips ! They were cooked by the order and came piping hot! This was especially enjoyable on such a chilly evening ! We enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back here if we're in the southern islands again !... More

We visited Akaroa about two weeks ago. It was a miserable day weather wise and we were hungry for a good feed of fish n chips. Having fairly good ratings we chose this place for lunch. For a town situated by the sea the seafood basket from here was of poor quality. The fish was dry and stuck to my... More

We were there on a cruise ship and everyone must have been told about how great the fish'n'chips were as the queue was out the door. We went back a little later and were able to snag a table outside where we enjoyed the daily special. The meal came wrapped in layers of brown paper and it was hot, crisp,... More
