Ideal for a short quencher, or a longer linger Grub is well considered, generous and washed down with some local brew, is enhanced by the fabulous location right on the water in the French Quarter

Having visited this bar with family and friends, the heavens opened just after lunch. In total I guess there would have been around 15-18 people in both the bar area and the covered eating area. As a businessman myself, I found it very strange that when I went up to get more drinks for the 6 in my party, were... More

Very relaxing and great view of the water. The weather was a bit chilly, so their good soup hit the spot.

On a day trip to akaroa I stopped for a late lunch at Harbar with my husband and baby. The outdoor seating on the water gave a picture perfect view of the bay and hillside. Seats were comfortable and if we'd needed it - the outdoor fireplace looked very warm! The menu is simple. It that's what makes it best.... More

We stopped here for happy hour beers to watch the sunset. Lovely little bar that also offers tapas and meals.

Had some good food, well-cooked and battered fish, great mussels, average bruschetta, served by a dour Scot of an emo bent, wistfully singing the dull white-boy indie tunes that droned from the speakers as he made no effort to engage with us as we tried to ask him a few basic questions. If you find engaging with the public tedious... More

Great little spot for a drink and a light bite late in the afternoon if you're feeling p peckish. Lovely views and there is a warm little corner by the bar if the wind is up.

Relaxed beach-side casual dining with small range of cafe meals, a little on the expensive side, but what a view! Enjoyed the feeling of simplicity.

I have been there a couple of times for a drink and fortunately it has always been sunny. The views are to die for and its a nice relaxing environment. Only had a drink here so can't vouch for the food.
