The food was just in average. But the price was high and small plate. Nothing really special to be honest. The salad could not change to vegetables and need to order side dish if wanted. The service was not good too. Waitress took empty dishes...More

Nice service. Good option for a lunch in the old city. The restaurant is specialized in fish and sea food. The mussels are very good. Nice tips about the local beers.

We knew it was expensive so no problem . The dish I ordered included potatoes but in reality they provided potato crisps with the fish . Not a clear menu so would advise you ask the waiter or waitress . I was given what I...More

Hello and thank you for the review. We are sorry that the potatoes arrived so late, we are trying to find out what caused the problem. We are happy you enjoyed the meal in general and we wish to see you again in the future.

It offers traditional food from Latvia in a modern cuisine format. My choice was fish and mushrooms. Ample list of white wines. The homemade ice-cream was really good.

Both fish dishes (cod and sturgeon) were beautiful cooked and both were served with spinach ice cream which is worth trying. I also had the black sesame seed ice cream, interesting. Local wine worth trying. Very pleasant surroundings and excellent service.

Description
”Strong and tough people live in this quiet corner of the earth ” Vilis Lacis says on coastal Latvians. In 1939, a feature film was made after his romana ”Fisherman`s Son” , depicting life in fishing villages, fishermen, their joys and troubles, harsh and full of risk everyday life. One generation inherits tools from the other, working methods and hope to become wealthier and independent.Oscar is a fisherman`s son, who is fighting for these ideals, with a bright mind, strong will and faith in a better tomorrow.
