four of us went without too much expectations but already after several great meals in Tallinn (always excellent!). even after being spoiled by other nice places, again we found re-invented food that builds on many locally grown and produced foods. portions are not large, so...More

We had a nice dinner in this cozy but stylish restaurant. Starters were my favourite, I had whitefish roe and the sauce was really good and tasty. For the main dish I choose venison filet, which was good but maybe nothing special. Or then maybe...More

Great food, very well presented which confirms that Estonian cuisine is definitely among the most tasty in the world! However unlike other places, this restaurant is a bit pricey. 2 glasses of wine, an entree and a main course ended up costing 48€ which for...More

The great and now sadly missed A A Gill once said that writing a review on trip adviser does not make a restaurant critic. As always he was spot on. I am no restaurant critic but I know what I like. I have been to...More

Dear Tripadvisor user hopesprings_7, Thank you for posting a review and giving us a feedback. We do decant some of our young wines because additional aeration helps them to open up. I am sorry if it left a bad feeling that we wanted to keep...More

Very nice place to sit and enjoy Estonian summer with a nice cuisine. Prices are quite high, but I think that for the hidden place inside an old town garden it is surely worth it!

Really lovely staff, attendive and well trained! Unfortunately it was the food that was a a dissapointment..both me and my date had three courses..in which i guess only one - my dessert (dried egg yolk) was really good. Had a beef tartar (lack of flavours,...More

Having looked at the reviews on TA , had high expectations but were rather disappointed. The place has very little atmosphere and uninviting decor. No one seemed to be having any fun in the place. The menu is limited , which is fine , and...More

I went to Leib for dinner in November 2017. Even if the restaurant was packed and we had no reservation, the staff managed to find us a table which was very nice. I ordered the carrot tartar and the coq au vin. Both were very...More

Very professional and warm service. The starters (goat cheese, roe) were among the best for years in my restaurant experience. Main course were good. We are pleased to come back soon again.

Leib is run by two professional foodies - a chef and a sommelier. Having our own restaurant is a dream come true for both of us. Leib means black bread in Estonian and we have chosen it to be our name for a reason! Good old local black bread - fresh, warm, simple, and honest - it's what we, Estonians, grow up with and what we dream about when away. It's what we are, really. Good bread is always made with soul. We are passionate about sharing goodies from our homeland. We work with local farmers and fishermen to create delicious yet simple dishes. Since most of our ingredients are local, the menu is always seasonal. Less is more- therefore our menu is compact and constantly changing. Hand-made bread, coupled with foods made from natural, local ingredients is a true gastronomic delight. Leib - soulful casual dining!
