Had the breakfast for two which was great and just right to start you off. A mix of cold cuts and eggs and bacon. Some porridge, fruit and a breadbasket. Coffee and OJ as well. It seems a bit expensive at 20 euro but it is first class. We also went for coffee and cake in the afternoon which was... More

very disappointed about interieur, to big a hall, loud, unfriendly staff, one cake at least 7 Euros!!!! Not worth a visit, just take a picture and have coffee and cake in one of the many small and nice coffee houses in Budapest!

Nice 1900 interior cafe for cakes, coffeeshop and hot chocolate. Gerbaud offers a one of a kind hot chocolate wicht seems to be made from chocolate bars: even beter than when you make it yourself with real cacao. Cakes are quite expensive.

Was waiting for a massage at Buddha bar and decided to have a quick drink in this beautiful cafe. It's filled with beautiful handmade cakes and deserts/chocolates. The drinks was lovely and refreshing but it's worth a visit just to sit in this timeless cafe.

On Valentine's Morning during our recent stay, we opted to visit the cafe here for breakfast to set us up for the return flight to the UK. We both ordered the larger, more expensive one, a cross between a UK & Hungarian one (scrambled eggs & bacon, rolls, coffee, orange juice, cheese, cold meats, fruit, etc) to sustain us throughout... We went in on our last night for a treat. The building is really nice and easy to get too off one of the main shopping areas but whilst the cakes look amazing they were too expensive for us (they would've worked out around £7 - £8 per slice/piece.) We found a place up near the parliament building that served... More

Famous cafe, has seen its best days. No development, no new items on menu, although high prices. Many new cafes are better in service and quality. Good looking cakes, but not fresh in the late afternoon. If the guide tells you to visit, have a look and step further.

Fantastic old building. Cake was nice. Expensive but you pay for the ambience and building as much as the food. Worth a visit.

Myself and my sister treated ourselves to afternoon cake and coffee and what a fabulous treat it was. You feel like royalty. A step into another world. One not to be missed.

Myself and girlfriend were there in the spring 2015 and took a seat outside, it was maybe 1pm so returaunt was not busy other than one couple sitting outside aswel, when we arrived we immediately made eye contact with one of the female staff members who was serving solo (brown hair 30's) who didn't acknowledge us, so we took our... Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
