Wonderful meal at hummus and so cheap. There were 4 of us. Two ordered meat and couscous with salad. Two of us ordered falafel in pita. We also had the humus shakshuka and 4 pieces of lafta (I think these came with the two meat meals and the shakshuka). All this plus 4 soft drinks came to around 9000 Forint.... More

Took a punt on this place as I wanted a quick, cheap veggie dinner and it had a great, fresh concept. As soon as I walked in I was not shown a table or even given a menu. The chefs looked like they had their game together but the service staff were quite a mess and practices unhygienic. They were... More

Was recommended via a travel blog and glad I stopped in. Needed a quick bite before settling into hotel and taking in an early show. Menu was great couldn't just choose one item! Great find for my kind of comfort food.

I loved the style of food, service and decor in HummusBar. It is a concept we haven't come across before but really enjoyed. We loved the "10 commandments" on the wall in the bathroom.

Hummus bar offers an amazing big sortiment for hummus and veggie addicts and they also have delicious and not fatty kebab meat (lamb, beef, chicken). Nice lemonade or home-made mint tea are served as greeting. Freshly made laffa and nice spicy sauces are also the specialties of the Hummusbar. Must go!

In my idea, this is one f the best food chains, as they have it all covered: nice and easy-going staff, good food, great choice for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, so I can invite anyone I want, several locations in town, all location offer something extra/something different, the laffa or pita is always fresh, and the beer is always cold :)

I had lunch at Hummus with some friends. We discovered it by chance, walking around the beautiful streets in the city center. It was such a great surprise! As soon as we got into, we were offered some mint tea, really appreciated! We ate some delicious hummus, the best I have ever eaten! The prices are really convenient and the... More

Description
We believe in curiosity and the pursuit of new experiences, a journey that leads to far lands and distant times. Since the beginning of time, food has been the most vital necessity for survival and besides that, a main source of joy. This is one of the few things that never change. Food is the oldest venue which brings worlds together. The first hummusbar was opened in 2005, and since then, our restaurants have become a part of the city with several locations. We are present in the most desirable spots of the urban scene with a boutique flavour to our food and our sites. Our food is unique by its simplicity. We use quality ingredients, our dishes are homemade, fresh and nutritious, based on ancient recipes. We keep our atmosphere humble and welcoming. Everyday, we work to remind our guests how simple a thing can be to enjoy life. We are a growing chain in Budapest, Hungary with our eye on the european market.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
