We celebrated with our trivial 8-person family my wife´s 50th birthday at Bock´s (recommended to us by acquaintances, both living in Budapest). Attila, a sophisticated and friendly waiter, helped us in choosing one of the best ever meals I have had including more than 20 Michelin restaurants. We chose different starters from goose liver sushi to duck soup, main courses... More

Beautiful food and wines/beers, professional and attentive waiting staff - one of us was vegetarian, and the maitre d' went out of his way to offer vegetarian options. So good we went twice. Interesting art on the walls! And very convenient for our hotel, the Corinthia.

Ate at this bistro next to the Corinthia hotel. A smallish and unassuming place, but the service and food were great.

Situated on a wide Boulevard next to the a large grand hotel, we tried to get a table by waking off the street but were told that it would have to be after 9:30, we were hungry so found somewhere else but decided to book for the following night. We were given the choice of 6:30pm and be out by... More

First time at this resturant and we are really satisfied. Perfect from start to goal. After having lots of too sweet champagne we finally got a great one. Food best and service casual and friendly. Lots for the money, can highly recommend this resturant for traditional Hungaryan food with a modern twist.

The bistro is attached to the Corinthia Hotel and offers an excellent choice of classic Hungarian dishes, but often with a twist. As well as the regular a la carte menu there are a good choice of daily specials to choose from, offering chicken, veal, beef, fish and pork. Two courses with drinks was reasonably priced at under 30 euros... More

Highly recommended by a local friend. Try the oven baked beer roots with balsamic vinegar, goulash soup, chicken paprikash and cucumber salad

We had dinner there end of November 2016. The room is lovely, with a nice flair, unfortunately also a bit cold. Service was attentive but slightly inpatient, not overly friendly. The waiter forgot to bring one starter, for which he apologized later. The food was tasty, good hungarian dishes. To my taste it could have been somewhat more spicy. The... More

Still top notch. Excellent service and great wine list. Foi gras sushi and lecso a must. Many wines by glass. Waiters are helpful to recommend to find the right wine for your choice of meal.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
