Maghaz Restaurant is on Andrassy ut, about 100m northeast of Kodály Körönd. I stopped in for an afternoon snack; my eye was drawn to a display case with a dozen cakes, pies and pastries, as well as other small foods. I chose a poppy seed pie (moist, nutty poppy seed interior between two flaky crusts. It went well with hot mint tea (one of many varieties offered). I ate it outdoors in a lovely atrium with palms and other plantings, insulated from the traffic noise on Andrassy ut. The restaurant is self-service, and the server was friendly and helpful. I thought prices were reasonable for a very good snack in quiet surroundings.

Stopped by on our way to Heroes Square, and jolly glad we did. It is such an amazingly beautiful place! And the cake and coffee were out of this world.

I was in the teahosue part today with an asian lady for a short business meeting . The staff was very unpleasant with her. They were not able to say a hello, never heared about the word: please . She got a glass only when I reminded the staff, she would like to drink her tonic from a glass, not from a bottle...

If you want to sit in an amazing location and eat really tasty food which is big enough to make you full, you should definitely come here. Never been in a more adorable place. Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is just great especially for families with children. The prices are very fair and cheap. We definitely come here again!!!

Dropped in for a quick lunch on 2 May. It was a sunny & warm day & it was very pleasant sitting in the inner courtyard & enjoying the peace & relative calm of the city. It was a self-service restaurant, so quick & efficient. A very pleasant spot for a quick lunch.

As you enter the front promenade your greeted by a small oasis of character, it’s seating is in the front courtyard and it’s really inviting.
The food service area needs a bit more organising but adequate.
The ambience is very good and the service could be a little more friendlier but still pleasant.
Latte is lovely and a great selection of teas!

A lovely and quirky cafe. We initially intended to sit outside but thought we would check out inside, so glad we did. Beautiful court yard with lots of character. Nice buzz about it and all age ranges present. I would definitely recommend it. The staff were helpful and there was a nice variety of food from bagels to full meals. Also reasonably priced. I will definitely come back.

The environment is beautiful, too bad the waiters ruined it all. Inside the staff are very nice and polite, and they sell wonderful scones, but when i tried the grill restaurant part for the first time (and last time obviously), my opinion changed about them. It was almost empty when we arrived, the waiters weren't busy at all, actually they did nothing, but still didn't come to our table. I had to go to one to ask for the drink list, but after i got it and went back to my table they still didn't come to take our order. During 10 minutes they showed inactivity, just brought a food to a girl that was all, still didn't come to our table. Finally we got fed up with it and left. On the way out i asked one of the waiters what was going on, why they didn't serve us and he just smiled sorry, but didn't tell us to stay and give our order. I asked is it normal here to do it? He still just said sorry and smiled, nothing else. I never ever in my life met this kind of rude and phlegmatic behavior from waiters.

I stopped by to have a piece of cake and a tea. Their selection was interesting and very healthy. The tables next to Andrássy are great to be in the shade but still in the open air, but with some calm environment around you.

We found this place by chance. It looked pretty good from the outside, an old style villa with plenty of people sitting in the small front gardens. We went inside as it was a bit on the chilly side.
The service was rather grumpy, no acknowledgement or smile from the server, who took ages serving the people in front of us. Our order of four coffees and three cakes seemed too much effort and again took ages to deliver.
Coffee was pretty bland no taste, and the cakes (nothing like those shown on their face book pages) had a strange taste, lacking any sweetness for the sponge or icing topping/filings.
We sat in the courtyard which was ok but had to listen to someone yelping as if they were being attacked by people wielding a birch branch.
We couldn't work out if this was a cafe/restaurant or a cultural centre. Odd to say the least. Not one of our better stops in Budapest.

Magház restaurant is a calm, cosy place with friendly prices (especially compared to the surrounding places) and great meals. The staff is very friendly. Even though the place was very crowded when we were there (everyone was having dinner at 12AM from around the nearby office buildings - just like my colleague and I), I am looking forward to visiting it again for a coffee or another dinner.

Good cheap snacks, suitable for breakfast too. Ample seating. The range of food available is quite limited.

This place has an excellent location, at the biggest and most beautiful alley. The restaurant is in an old villa, that are typical for that alley.
You can sit inside and outside, both of them is beautiful.
The daily menus were suprisingly cheap (5 euros for a soup and second meal), if we consider the great location, and also delicious.
