We dropped in for a drink and asked to taste a red wine which turned out not to be to our taste so we asked to taste the next one and it was bought as a full serve which was revolting. We did not complain however when we asked a snack (nuts or olives) we got a clear NO. Finally... More

Had a late lunch New Years Day 1/1/17. Staff spoke good English, great friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Had open sandwiches - BBQ chicken & ratatouille & cheese and 1 chicken dish all of which were lovely & substantial, a couple of coffees and 5 soft drinks - bill came to 23,000 Hungarian currency.

Even though we came in at an odd hour (too late for lunch, too early for dinner) we were welcomed and we served a wonderful meal. One of use had the trout. It was good but not great. But then there was the paprika chicken which was very, very good. The serving was beyond generous and too big by half.... More

We were surprised there were not more people eating here as the food was excellent. There is a good menu to choose from. We had the beef steak goulash and the pork medallions with peach, they were both delicious. The cafe has a great atmosphere and there is live piano music which is very good. The staff were friendly. Glad... More

We stumbled upon Komedias whilst walking around Budapest. The food was excellent - full of rustic charm, the staff were friendly and helpful when it came to understanding the menu. Their wine recommendation was spot on (and not the most expensive option) and the ambience was cozy and fun without being intrusive. This was helped in no small way by... More

Family owned traditional café-restaurant in Budapest's theater district. The elegant decoration takes you back to the 1920'-30' Budapest and Paris. Although being a café the menu is quite large. We provide you high quality food from breakfast to late dinner. Taste our Hungarian dishes (the goulash is excellent) or try one of the owners' recipe (matze-ball soup, fried goose legs or the Jewish style eggs). We are open from 8 a.m. to midnight with live music from 7 p.m. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and feel like a real Budapester.
