We came across bobs kitchen on our second night in Budapest, around the corner from our hotel and whilst eating our dessert we knew we would be back the next night! The portions are big and all for a great price! The staff are lovely and made us feel very welcome both nights! Lovely dog there too!
We really enjoyed our meals both nights the quality of the food was brilliant truly a taste of a home cooked meal! I would reccomend you try here it’s away from the hussel and bussel of the main restaurants and your supporting an independent business!
If we return to Budapest we will be going back and definitely reccomending to people at home !

I found out about Bob's Kitchen while visiting a British Shop in my neighborhood. Someone in the shop recommended Bob's Kitchen for a good meal and English Breakfast. The following week we headed to Bob's with some friends. I have to say that the full English that I had was the best so far in Budapest and I have lived in the city for over twenty years. His homemade sausage is quite good along with the black pudding and English cut bacon. All the extras (mushrooms, tomatoes, potatoes) were equally delicious. You may also order the smaller English or my wife who is a vegetarian had the poached eggs with mushrooms and potatoes. She demands that I take her back.
The atmosphere is casual with outside seating also. The owner Bob and his wife are very friendly and you always feel welcome when dining. If you
would like a great breakfast in a friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go in Budapest. Bob's also serves lunch and dinner and is closed on Monday's and Tuesday's.

We have been to Bobs Kitchen on several occasions and every visit has been a fun experience. Bobs menu is not vast but everything is prepared fresh and presented well. Chef Brian is proud of what he produces and it shows on each plate. Quality ingredients, great atmosphere, and the best service in Budapest. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner is always a treat. Bob also offers a great catering service and will adapt a menu to suit your needs. Oh and you can also order sausage rolls, pies, scotch eggs, sausages, bacon etc to have at home!

Found this gem of a place whilst walking around one of the back streets, sat down outside and although we weren’t actually that hungry, we saw one of the dishes and decided to try the roast dinner. First impression was really good, the guy serving us ( maybe he is Bob) was so nice and friendly and I really liked his attitude, he made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we had a few more beers. Food was very good and I would definitely recommend this place .

I reviewed Bob's Kitchen last year and feel the need to shout again about this place. Every time I eat here, with my wife, the food is spot on. I will include pictures as the eggs are always perfect along with the sausages, bacon, potatoes etc. Bob and Katinka are the ultimate hosts and always seem genuinely happy to welcome you to their place. Chatted with American ex pats that we met here and we all agreed that Bob's was the place to be. Just excellent.

I was not going to mention a bad meal I had there but after today’s experience I will. I ordered two fish and chips, it took a while but we weren’t in a rush. However when the meal finally turned up, the chips and fish were soggy, as if oil wasn’t hot enough. It wasn’t a pleasant meal at all. Today I called to him for three Sunday dinners, I asked if they were doing beef with the Sunday dinner and the lady replied that they had steak?. She had to pass me to Bob, who quite rudely told they have the normal turkey and pork, considering they also do Beef, wasn’t quite sure what he meant. However, I was just about to order the pork when he put the phone down. I called back and he said he was in the middle of breakfast service and was too busy. I won’t be going there again. He did sound stressed, but that’s the industry, I know as I’ve had a restaurant but would never treat customers like that.

Great food and amazing, friendly service. Would highly recommend. We came here for breakfast twice it was that good and the coffee is perfect 👍 had a good chat with the owner, who is assume was Bob, and he’s very friendly and welcoming.

Budapest’s only British-run place that does English breakfasts and plenty of other UK favourites. I had fantastic eggs benedict with bacon plus two sausages (and I was only charged for one). Great coffee. Pleasant, convenient inner-city spot on Jókai utca. Very nice service and manager Bob, a Glaswegian, couldn’t be more welcoming. He also does many other British favourites, including roasts and fish and chips, which you can sure are just as good as the breakfasts. Recommended.

Although we love to travel my husband loves his traditional food and so Bobs kitchen was a great little find! Roast dinner on a Wednesday with a choice of meats, pork, lamb & turkey or all 3 if you so choose, accompanied with a homemade Yorkshire pudding. Perfect!
I had the sirloin steak which came with 'proper' chips....no oven chips here...and our daughter had the starter fishcakes as a main course.
We shared the chicken wings starter which were lovely and our daughter had the brownie dessert.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our food.
Lovely, cosy little place set back off the main street and well worth a visit.
If we had time we would definitely be back to try a breakfast.

I walked by this place on a cold, damp evening and I’m so glad I went in. Service dog Georgie greets the customers, Bob and his wife do their best to provide a taste of London, like you might find in a gastropub but with Hungarian wines on offer. Good food for a reasonable price, and I went back for dinner a second time, enjoyed both the fish cakes and the veg pasta. Window seats are welcoming to solo diners with a few larger tables for couples or groups and it’s easy to strike up a conversation. I’d have gone back for breakfast if they opened earlier than 10 am. Overall, a lucky find

We really couldn’t have picked a better location to have Bobs Kitchen literally on our doorstep. Superb host Bob makes everyone feel so at home and with an Irish chef what could be better 😎 Food is fantastic and can’t recommend highly enough. If in Budapest you must visit 💯you won’t regret it 🥰

Great place to breakfast. I chanced upon it but was delighted by the owner Bob and staff. One of the best English breakfasts I’ve had anywhere. Home cured bacon, homemade sausage and black and white puddings together with the usual accompaniments. Highly recommended.

We visited Bobs Kitchen on our first visit night in Budapest. We had a lovely meal sat outside, drinks arrived quickly to our table, we then put our food order in and in no time had it at the table in front of us. Food was delicious we all had something different and each meal was beautifully presented. We had the fish and chips which was huge! A cheese burger, steak which was as cooked to perfection and finally myself I had a turkey roast dinner which was delicious! My daughter then had a chocolate brownie which was huge! Would definitely recommend and 100% revisit on our next trip:

I have been visiting Budapest over the last 12 years and I’ve always struggled to find a restaurant that does traditional English grub, well I’ve found it, I had to deliberate between a full English breakfast or the Sunday roast, well I went for the Turkey roast and it didn’t disappoint. Great service friendly staff a definite 5 out of 5. As an aside Bob mentioned that he may need to relocate due to the redevelopment of the area, so when you next visit Budapest and your craving some proper grub check out their location and give it a try, I doubt you will be disappointed

It’s a favorite of mine for Breakfast. Bob and his staff are friendly and efficient. I love the Vegetarian Breakfast and others in our group enjoyed eggs benedict or other choices with meat selections. Easy to reach. Near Oktogon.
