If you like seafood and surprises, go for this dish. It is amazing! The shrimp was really nice. The menu is a lot to chose from, so something for everyone. The staff was friendly and correct We had a very nice evening.

We've eaten tagliatelle with shrimps and macaroni all forno. I believe it was handmade as it tasted/looked as it. Also the staff is very patient, they take their time for guests. Price quality is optimal.

We had two meals here as we loved it so much!!! Not a great pizza fan but demolished the diovola one which was delicious!! My husband enjoyed the gnocchi and a forest fruits panna cotta while I was starting a horrible chest cold and the Bailleys Latte really helped me! The staff were attentive and friendly and the restaurant was... More

The first restaurant where you can taste the TRUE italian kitchen outside the country! I appreciated their maître, extremally expert of italian wines. Medium-expensive but you'll absolutely pay for an excellent food quality!

We had a large party of 20 and the food and service were excellent. Try's the Chef's Surprise for a visual and gastronomic feast. Homemade gnocchi and pasta and red sauce to die for. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Service superb.

I tried to book a table minimum 5 times to get it. Worth? YES. This small restaurant represents everything what needs for a perfect dinner or lunch. Notable the quality is which is so high. Appetizers was fine. Try the soup or salad (for me the Carpaccio is also a salad) The paste was perfect. We continuously looked for a... More

I am an expat living in Budapest and have been coming to La Coppala for 4 years. When I had a friend email to tell me that she was traveling with a large group from Colorado and could I come to dinner with them. I made a reservation in the afternoon for dinner for 26. Everyone raved about the food... More

We did our best to like Hungarian food but despite numerous attempts we just couldn't stomach the heavy fat diet. We craved Italian food and stumbled upon la Coppola on our last day. Service was fast and friendly and the servings were a good size. We had the mac and cheese and OMG it was good. There was sliced meat... More

Description
Siculus coquus et Sicula mensa...that is the Sicilian cook and Sicilian table. According to a Roman saying this is the secret to a healthy life. They came, saw and conquered: the Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Angevins, Hapsburgs, the Bourbons...Yes, every one of them! All these people, they left something in Sicily - Trinacria, for example, belonging to Greek mythology, the Gorgon in the middle and the three legs as tips to protect the island. The Arabs, skilled breeders of goats and lambs, and with them their milk, processed caciocavallo, provola pecorino. The testimony of the Saracens from the "sweet tooth" in Sicily is a legacy left by the nuns who handed down the memory, and it is thanks to them that today we have the real dough, cassata and Siculus coquus et Sicula mensa "cannoli". With the succession of all these peoples, Sicily today has a very diverse cultural heritage, that leaves a lasting impression for life, the memories of all those travelers who have had the opportunity and the chance to visit it. Between the oleanders and colorful bougainvillea, under the shade of the thick foliage of olive trees, savoring the delicacies of Sicilian cuisine, including fresh fish of the sea, the warm sun that enriches and gives an unmistakable flavor to fruits and vegetables, sipping her wine noblest, is unforgettable. Equally memorable are the inhabitants of this fantastic island, famous for their warm welcome and availability, full of life, with their kindling a sense of humor, with the inimitable "coppola" placed on their heads, with a joyful noise you preach good appetite. This atmosphere we are ready to offer here in Budapest! "Baciamo le mani!"(kind of typical Sicilian regards) Salvo Sgroi and La Coppola Team

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
