We picked this restaurant after trying Lanchid Sorozo a few doors from Ildiko's Kitchen. At Lanchid Sorozo they tried to give us a very small table next to the toilets. I couldn't avoid noticing that all Hungarian customers had decent tables while foreign couples were on small incovevient tables - and most of the restaurant was empty. We left and... More

The food is quite delicious and the service is fast. It's quite cheap and the decoration is a bit traditional.

Cheap and awsome traditional hungarian food! The waitress is really kind and the variety of options is great as well.

Went for supper with a bunch of friends. We ordered mostly traditional Hungarian dishes and they were excellent--really tasted home cooked. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is small looks rather rustic but serves great food at great prices--a real gem in downtown Budapest for a cozy and simple lunch or supper. Highly recommend for great value

They claim it's freshly prepared & cooked all we heard was the microwave bell going off! We ordered our food ( Hungarian stew) & 2 bells & about 3 minutes it was infront of us

We had a nice lunch here with the locals, pretty sure they only serve lunch so the place can get crowded in midday. The stews were ok, the prices low, however we did have tastier dishes in other places (and we had the traditional stew in more than one restaurant). Would recommened it to people traveling on a budget.

Large and very tasty dishes. The staff is very friendly. Now I'm writing something out of context just because tripadvisor requests at least 100 characters. 😊

My husband and I went for lunch! It opens at 11:30, and there was a line outside at about 11:20, and as soon as it opened the place was packed. They serve typical Hungarian food, at a good price (lunch for both of us cost about 10 EU). We just so happened to be there on the restaurant's birthday, so... More

We accidentally found this place while visiting Budapest. The service is great! The portions are huge and unexpensive, the food is incredibly tasty and it arrived very quickly.

Based on many reviews, I thought I would check out this restaurant, excited to try the local cuisine. Walked over around 6pm to find 3 people blocking the doorway, and it seemed one of them worked in the restaurant. I asked if they were open for dinner and she said no. So then I asked when they would be open,... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
