We were welcomed and shown to a table without having made a prior booking. The waiters were excellent. Throughout our evening, we had a few, all of whom were really attentive and on hand to ask any questions.
The food was delicious, I had the gnocchi. I don't usually go for this type of dish as I have previously found them to be stodgy, not this one, it was fantastic. We shared a dessert, which, again, was amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for tasty, quality food at a reasonable price. Only downside we found was the portion size on my husband's dish, which was the meat kebab.

Excellent and interesting food, good quality ingredients, fresh flavours and very good service. Recommend for dinner, we were treated really well and it’s worth paying a slightly higher price for a great dinner that we will remember. Thanks Aida for the special service

We ate here as a couple and were wowed by both the food and the staff. We ordered a selection of meze starters and were advised that we had ordered too much food and were guided in our selection. They were right. Each dish was explained in detail and an amazing recommendation made for dessert. We were served on that occasion by Szonja and Amir was really helpful and friendly. We went back several days later with additional family members and were recognised by Amir who managed to squeeze us in without a booking and who was amazing kind in letting us taste additional food. This time we were served by Asif but any of the staff who brought food to the table were very helpful and friendly.
In summary, amazing food and really great staff and a lovely atmosphere.

We were at the restaurant yesterday following a recommendation and we were quite disappointed. The dishes we ordered were quite small and unsatisfactory for the price compared to the other places in the very expensive area. For example, we ordered chips brought in a small porcelain bowl at a price of 3000 forints!!!. More expensive than the country and who knows what. In addition, when they brought us the invoice, we were very surprised when we saw a charge for non-mineral water, for 1150 huf and a small plate of tahini that we asked for next to the chips for 900 huf!!! . After we expressed our dissatisfaction with the matter, they removed the above from the bill. As far as I'm concerned, I will not come to this restaurant again, nor will I recommend it to friends

Dear Meshuga,
I am writing to share my recent experience at your Restaurant, which was unfortunately marred by how we were treated during our meal.
We made a reservation prior our arrival, since we knew this is a busy Restaurant in the downtown.
When we arrived the reservation was aknowledged and we were seated to our table.
My party and I were excited to dine at your restaurant, having heard great things about your menu and service. We arrived promptly and ordered a full meal, including appetizers, main courses, and drinks. We were enjoying our dining experience when, after approximately 1 hour, we were approached by a staff member who informed us that we needed to vacate our table soon to accommodate other guests.
While we understand the importance of managing table turnover, we felt rushed and uncomfortable, especially since we had ordered a proper meal and were still actively consuming our drinks. This experience was further exacerbated by the fact that we felt our presence was no longer welcome. In an attempt to address the situation, the staff offered to waive the service charge and allowed us to remain for an additional hour. While we appreciated the gesture, it did not alleviate the feeling of being hurried out of the restaurant.
Dining out is not just about the food; it’s also about the experience and atmosphere. Regrettably, we left feeling more like an inconvenience than valued guests. I believe that every customer deserves a welcoming environment and the opportunity to enjoy their meal at a comfortable pace.

It was my second time in a year at Meshuka. Both experiences were awesome.
Start with the bottom line … the food is just fantastic. Perfect taste. Rivals Ottolenghi.
Then add possibly the best service you can find in Budapest. The waiters are top notch without being over intrusive.
And a few minor but nice gestures … like a shot of array before dining and an amuse bouche between the starter and main … and one where the taste rivalled both dishes ordered.
The world is not perfect. Meshuka is on the expensive side. The starter (small bite) was indeed very small. To compensate, the main was more than enough. And the menu choices are a bit limited.
But overall a top notch experience.

The food is really good and interesting. We were actually quite overwhelmed with all the choices and enjoyed all of the ones we had. We didn't order the polenta but were served a small portion complementary, and it was delicious. The sashimi was heavenly.
Only the music was very noisy, but the waiter turned the speaker at our table down, which was very kind of him. We enjoyed the evening. All the waiters were so very efficient and smiling.

César saved our night! We hadn't booked a table and the lovely doorman explained that he couldn't give us a table at that moment but we could sit at the bar and maybe a table would become free soon. We nearly bailed but decided to roll the dice on a round of cocktails.
Our barman, César, took control of our night. He immediately steered us away from a cocktail choice that was too sweet and gave us the tastiest cocktails we had during our stay in Budapest.
He made some food recommendations and we felt that we were in such safe hands that we decided to eat at the bar. We didn't regret it; the food was exquisite.
César was always on hand to recommend food and drink pairings, influencing our decisions at every turn.
It was so refreshing to encounter a staff member that was so knowledgable and enthusiastic about the food on the menu.
He was also incredibly friendly. We were first hesitant about Meshuga because of the prices, but without a doubt the flavours and César's service made it so worth it.
Go here! If you're a couple, drink at the bar! Fingers crossed, César will be on hand to give you an excellent time.

Me and my wife came for dinner & drink. The music and everything around us was very cool. We had very lovely two waitresses - Klara and Maus. The restaurant gave us 3 rounda of free shots.
The food was good!!
The kebab was perfect.
There was one dish that we wanted to replace and we got new dish in few minute instead.
I rank it 4 of 5 just because of the price.
The price is bit higher and we didnt knew that the restaurant taking service payment of around 10% of the bill.
Highly reccomended.

We visited Meshuga on the first night of our stay in Budapest. The place was really busy which is always a good sign!
We were sat down at our table and told we had a 2hr window for our meal which wasn’t an issue as that was a reasonable amount of time for the two of us.
We ordered the flatbread and dips to start, which was really nice, however, 3/4 of the way thru our starter the main arrived!
I had the shrimp pasta and the wife had gnocchi. Both dishes were really nice, albeit the food got cold quite quickly, this was probably due to the on/off heating system.
The desserts were a duel of chocolate mousses and a Malabi dessert. Both were really good.
Our waiter was very attentive and catered for our every need without being ‘pushy’.
Overall, really good food, but initially felt a bit rushed.

On holiday with our friends from the States i booked Meshuga as the on line menu looked like it would cater to different tastes, and we were not disappointed!
Between the 6 of us we shared the beetroot tartare, cauliflower and aubergine starters and they were all amazing. The main courses were equally outstanding, all topped off with seriously good cocktails. Our dinner was made extra special by our waiter Amir, who was very knowledgable, professional and funny at the same time. Wish we had a Meshuga and an Amir nearby.

What a fantastic meal! The flavors, the spices, the fresh herbs…every bite is an experience! We order two ‘small plates’ to start — the Istanbul Salad w/talum cheese, roasted almonds and crunchy za’atar croutons, as well as the Roasted Cauliflower w/ roasted almonds and tahini sauce. Then, for our entrees, we thoroughly enjoyed the Fish Filet of StoneBass, slow cooked with black spinach and bulgur and Beurre-Blanc sauce…we ate every bite of the “Kebab Yehudit” a beef kebab grilled over charcoal with green tahini,tomato salsa, sumac onion, herb mix and laffa. They were so thoughtful to remember that we were celebrating a birthday and surprised us with a house-made mousse (dark chocolate and pistachio with white chocolate and Persian lemon) which was rich & decadent! The staff was so friendly and the chef was exceptionally talented! Highly recommend — make your reservation & GO!

Our dinner at Meshuga was amazing. The Arman bartender made us a special cocktail that was incredible, and Yoav the chef personally discussed our dishes with us, tailoring them to our tastes. The ambiance was stylish and welcoming, and every dish was expertly prepared. Meshuga offers excellent service, innovative cuisine, and genuine hospitality. A must-visit in Budapest!

Place was lovely ambiance was great and service was fabulous. Overall experience just let down by the food. Food was served lukewarm at best and just didn’t quite hit it on overall taste was definitely on the bland side.

Welcoming and helpful staff and great ambience (Halloween decorations were fab!) The food was phenomenal. We got small plates to share and every one was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. Lovely wine too. Coming from the UK we found it reasonably priced.
