Great tapas on our last night in Budapest. Quality was excellant especially the pork ribs with mojo verde. Six plates and a bottle of Albariño between two were ample and reasonably priced at €40 per head. Service was very good. Highly recommended.

Tapassio is very well located, in Hercegprímás utca 13 (very close to St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and it looks sensational, and the interior design and ambience teleport you almost instantly to Spain. We were greeted by one of the hosts – I’m really sorry I didn’t ask his name – a sensational guy with some good years spent in the hospitality industry in Cyprus – who had left a strong mark on the way of approach, service. In short, the man knew what he was doing! He recommended „I Trust The Chef” – a surprise specialty of the location – but we had come so determined and had done our homework so well (or at least so I imagined) that we completely refused the offer and ordered what we had on hand the list almost from the moment I decided to make the reservation: Melitzanosalata – Ciprusi padlizsánsaláta (Melitzanosalata – Cyprus eggplant salad), Muhammara-Paprikakrém dióval és gránátalmával (Muhammara- Pepper spread, walnuts and pomegranate), Mini lángos sajttal, tejföllel, lilahalmaval (Mini „langosh” with cheese, sour cream and red onion). We continued with Gnocchi gorgonzolával, serranóval és dióval (Gnocchi with gorgonzola, serrano and walnuts), Chipirones – Sült bébi-tintahal (Chipirones – Deep fried calamari), Gambas al ajillo – Fokhalumgas tigrisrák (Gambas al ajillo – Prawns with garlic and olive oil ), Csípős, vörösboros bébi-pol (Spicy baby octopus in red wine), Parmezános sült polenta szarvasgomba olajjal (Fried polenta with parmesan and truffle oil). Everything great! I was so satisfied with the dishes and especially with the choices made that I missed even the most successful dish… Sensing our stubbornness, the host brought us from the house what we had refused from the very beginning, namely: Vörösboros marhapofa (Beef cheek stew in red wine) – a variant of the Hungarian goulash deconstructed into an authentic tapas. Sensational!

We were welcomed with kindness. The interior was really nicely done and super cozy. Luckily we had booked because it was cottage full. Yet we were served quickly. We took the chefs choice without meat and were glad they wanted to do that. Really worth it. 3 rounds with 3 tapas we got and then dessert. We both really couldn't do it anymore. Each dish is prepared with care and there is also a wide choice of tapas for non-meat eaters. Really highly recommended for a correct price

At the end of a gruelling day of sightseeing with considerable heat we choose this place not far from the hotel, hoping to be welcomed even if it is a bit late (about 21.00). We were made to sit down with cordiality by a very kind waitress who also helped us choose wine by the glass. The restaurant is renowned for serving "tapas" or saucers with many different specialties. We let the chef choose and we liked what was proposed: there are different types of dishes, from fried sweet peppers to tartare, from mussels in a tomato bath to mini cut meat. All average well done, some detail improveable but nothing big. Very friendly and prepared service, we spent about 90.00 euros for two people with three glasses of wine.

Very friendly service, varied menu and wide range of cocktails and wine! Definitely different tapas than we are used to in the Netherlands, but surprised in a positive way. Eating here is comparable to Dutch prices, so don't be surprised by the mandatory 13.5% service charge that comes on top of your bill. Recommended!

We discovered this wonderful place only at the end of our holiday but we still managed to have lunch twice. The restaurant is very nice, the staff very knowledgeable and very kind, a special mention for Bende, who served us during the second lunch and, I imagine, for one of the owners whose name I do not know, who welcomed us the first time. It is a Spanish tapas restaurant, there are both hot and cold, both meat and fish. We always chose fish for our personal taste and the experience was perfect. Great food, expertly cooked with excellent raw materials. The strong and well-balanced flavors accompany you throughout the duration of the meal and then conclude with spectacular desserts! Also excellent local wines and especially a wonderful vintage Tokaji 5 puttonyos. Promoted with flying colors also the final espresso coffee and the glass, offered by them, of vodka and passion fruit as an end of the meal. Prices are also more than adequate for the excellent culinary offer and impeccable service. Very nice background music interspersed even by a good guitarist who performs live songs, everything is never over the top volume-wise and you can safely talk and enjoy the music. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant to lovers of good food!

I remove a star because they charged us nearly 15% for 'service,' and it wasn't clearly stated anywhere—outrageous. I didn't want to argue, but watch out. Good pistachio ice cream, Galician-style octopus, and shrimps. Fresh ingredients. I deduct another star: The fried food was soggy, and the lamb was undercooked. The waiter was friendly but overly chatty. I take off another star because despite being close to St. Stephen's Cathedral, the interior of the restaurant isn't great, and if you dine outside, you'll be practically on the sidewalk in front of the parking lot. Considering all of the above: 75 euros for six tapas dishes is a high price. Worth trying once, but not worth returning.

Tapassio is a tapas restaurant you just have to visit on your trip to Budapest. The food is absolutely fantastic and of high quality. In addition, there is a large selection of both cold and hot tapas dishes at a good price. We can also highly recommend their cocktails. The waiters are charming and committed to their guests, which creates a lively and present atmosphere in the restaurant. Our sweet waiter was the most attentive, humorous and competent we have experienced in a long time. Great recommendation from here.

Restaurant with mainly Spanish cuisine, basically you only eat TAPAS. Cuisine good service great, a note of merit goes to Francesca who with her professionalism, accompanied by her kindness, made us spend a beautiful evening. Although not a place with typical Hungarian cuisine, I recommend it. 5 tapas, 1 dessert, 1 water, 3 glasses of wine, 2 digestives offered all at 80 € I would say fair price.

I don't think I ever experienced something like this in a restaurant. We wanted to have a nice dinner, but got so much more. Tapassio as you can guess from the name is mailnyl a spanish tapas restaurant, but you can find dishes from all across the mediterranean and even hungarian dishes, so a great place if you would widen your taste palate. If you would like a special treat please try the goose liver with port, that is a true delicay to crown your meal. But for us, the main thing was the service. From the start, Bendegúz was very kind and generous to us. He helped us all along with the food, and the wines as well. Throughout the evening he always paid attention to the details so we can have a special night. I do believe we had a certain bond during our visit, which you can experience only with the finest waiters, if you let them guide you. To us, this was the perfect representation of hospitality and would like to show him our utmost gratitude. During service and at the end of our evening we had the chance to meet with other members of the crew who were just as generous and well prepared. We hope that every member of Tapassio is proud of themselves as they filled us not just with great food, bot with joy. Can’t wait to share this experience with our friends!

We were on 24 and 25 for dinner in this place on the eve with a set menu with good dishes especially fish and hearty and the 25 with a la carte menu with more modest tapas. Overall we ate well, not really Spanish tapas with good flavors. The room manager was very kind. The only drawback the walls of the room could use a refresh

We ate well in this tapas restaurant. The welcome and service mainly in French, our English must leave something to be desired, lol. I think 3 tapas are a minimum even for those who are hungry and 4 is good (for one person. I recommend the gnocchi, polenta and tuna tataki. On the other hand, the room is extremely noisy, it's better not to be deaf, with dim lighting 😉. The spicy digestive was offered to us, What else. 15,200 FT for 4 tapas, 1 aperol spritz and a sparkling water, correct.

Deliciously varied food with an artistic flair. Even though they were fully booked, they squeezed our group of four in at an early hour with a timeframe of 1-1/2 hours. We made the most of it by tasting their Chef’s choice menu that was prix fix and perfect. Three towers of Tapas and dessert (and four amazingly crafted cocktails) made for a perfect dining experience in Budapest. The restaurant is in a beautifully scenic part of town, very pedestrian and lively.

During our visit to Budapest we came several times to this charming restaurant. The wide variety of food surprised us, from patatas bravas to traditional Hungarian food, including gluten-free options. The attention and atmosphere of the bar is magnificent, waiters very attentive and ready at any time. A "must" in Budapest with a "Spanish" flavor. 100% recommendable

A truly exceptional visit, from the first minute to the last .. we were treated to a complimentary fizz for our anniversary, first class service and advice on the dishes to choose - and WHAT a delicious choice. Our waiter was so friendly, just on hand when you needed him and with perfect recommendations. We had a lovely mix of traditional tapas (gambas, patatas bravas, padron peppers) and local Hungarian treats - every dish was a good size, and the whole meal (wine included) was so reasonable for such a fine experience. There was a great buzz the whole time, lots of laughter and chats, but we could still hear each other with ease.

Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
