I was in this restaurant on the 25th of March with my sons. I tried several hungarian dishes and wines (also from hungary), and listened to the hungarian music band on the other side of the restaurant. The atmosphere and the kitchen also were brilliant!

Araz lemonade was delicious and the star dish was the sirloin with spinach and potato souffle. Service is attentive and smiling. It is more expensive than the rest of the neighborhood but sometimes you pay for quality.

Perhaps we just went on the wrong night. There were no offers on, no live music and at half 8 there were only three tables filled (including us). Having said that, the food was good, the wine was good (and cheap) and the service was...More

As soon as we entered we were hounded to order a drink. We asked for a white wine but weren't given a choice. We then had a Hungarian starter which was essentially a plate of cold meat. My partner ordered schnitzel for his main and...More

I enjoyed my confit duck leg very much and the pepper sauce was tasty, though not as spicy as I'd expected; I didn't like the semolina accompaniment. But my companion really liked his salmon with potato and fennel. The restaurant is stylish - interesting plates!...More

By default of finding our first choice veggie restaurant was closed on a Sunday (best to check, many bars and restaurants were) we found this restaurant by chance. I don't usually eat in hotel restaurants but we couldn't find anything vegetarian elsewhere and it was...More

In photos this restaurant looked modern, smart and fairly upmarket and this made it stand out somewhat in the area which is very different to the central city areas most will be familiar with. There were only a few other diners inside when we arrived...More

District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses
the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and
colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in
an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes
and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic
crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of
the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in
Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly
