We were a group of five women- lots of fun, but not the easiest to cater to. We talk a lot, share food and ask many questions. Our young waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the wine and food. We ate on the outdoor patio and it was just delightful. Cool night air, birds chirping , set on a... More

We got in this restaurant for lunch on a freezing Sunday in January. We ordered traditional Hungarian dishes, well cooked and well presented, accompanied by a superlative craft beer. Paul, the waiter, was really kind and helpful and gave us good suggestions. Some dishes are excellent, other are average. The place is definitely nice and cozy, although a bit too... More

We stoped here for some lunch and a beer in the sun after a busy morning sightseeing. The goulash soup was delicious

Started with a small pot of cream cheese and delicious bread. Hungarian plate then chicken pancake. Other half had wiener schnitzel - it was good but thought that it needed more potato. The staff were attentive but can't quite put my finger on why not VERY GOOD, thought it was more than Average. It just seemed to lack something ....

We called here at lunch time for a pudding and to try the local Palinka. The waiter was very helpful describing and helping us choose a flavour. The puddings were delicious. I don't think we will try another Palinka. A lovely restaurant in a lovely setting.

Average. Nice place but didn't meet the expectation. Staff reasonable friendly but the meal was medium, half hearted.

We ate here (having pre-booked online) on our first night in Budapest when we were, admittedly, a little tired after rising at 4am for the flight. Although pretty busy on this Wednesday evening, there was a nice relaxing atmosphere and friendly, professional waiting staff. We both began with the goulash soup (well, we were in Hungary) followed by mains of... More

Visited here on our first night of a trip to Budapest. sat outside and it was a bit chilly but the view of the church and seeing the world go by was worth it. We had the sharing meal platter to start, was lovely but not very big. I had chicken paprika for main, again lovely but not very hot.... More

No problems with service despite restaurant being busy. Not a large menu choice, however food was excellent. Booking is recommended.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
