Auguszt is an old-style cafe patisserie on a main street in the center of Budapest. Coffee is decent and service by teh young girls was super friendly. But THE reason to visit are the cakes. I LOVED the mango pie with a hint of hot pepper, surprising and refreshing.

Actually I was planning to write it months ago but somehow missed the moment but now again I saw this place ... now from a comfortable distance and it came to my mind. Back in October my sister was here with her son and his fiancé and our mother took them out for breakfast to August cukraszda on Kossuth Lajos... More

The vanilla slice was fantastic and ultra fresh. The coffees were great too, but if you like yours strong, be sure to order an extra shot. Excellent service as well.

We went for cake and tea. I had quite high expectations as I had read about it in an article where they suggested the best places in Budapest for sacker cake. Unfortunately, both cakes were quite dry. I'm the foodie type, and I cook and I bake. I know what good cake is like, and these cakes looked great but... More

A simple espresso, a cup of tea, an apple pie. Enough to enjoy the beauty of the place, right in the middle of this wonderful town, the kindness of the employees, the high quality of their products to suggest all of you to come here.

Had coffee and cakes for three here. Excellent quality and the bill was only $15. The somlói galuska (one of my favorite Hungarian desserts) was especially good.

We came here as part of a waking tour and ordered local specialities - I know most from eating them before - and this was great too, I took a classic poppy seed cake ( like my grandma used to make ) and my husband a marzipan cake as well as coffee and tea.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
