A nice little eatery on the shores of the Danube. Ideal for coffees lunch or dinner etc. A nice feel to the place and very homely. I only had coffee and cakes with my wife, however the menu was excellent and so was the coffee and cakes. When you come over the Szcezni Bridge and are heading to the tram... More

Fabulous place for dinner, lunch or even coffee/tea with some delicious cake of course ;-) We loved everything about this restaurant: food, atmosphere, design, staff (especially lovely owner, who was so kind and very welcoming ). The location and surrounding is simply ideal ... with the Chain Bridge and the Castle being 1min walk away. We loved it so much, that... More

We had a lovely lunch. The food was excellent as was the service, even though it was a busy afternoon. The matzah ball soup is one of the best you can get. I always enjoy the duck leg. We shared the cottage cheese dumpling for dessert because it is large enough to share.

You got a homey felling in this restaurant, the food was fine, but the desserts was amazing (and quite big) A bit expensive since it's so close to the castle.

Lovely breakfast stop. Sat outside. Friendly staff. Not a huge selection for breakfast. My partner had granola and fruit. I went for scrabbled eggs with bacon and onions. Good coffee. Overlooks the Danube. Value for money.

We had drunk plenty of coffee and needed something refreshing. A guide we bumped into recommended this little tea house and we weren't disappointed. They do food, coffee and other drinks but we ordered 2 of the freshly made teas 'Alhambra' which is made with Cardoman and oranges and my friend had Lemon, Ginger, both made fresh directly into the... My wife and I stopped in for lunch before we rode the "Funicular" (think that is how it's spelled). It is a small, cozy place that has that traditional Euro feel. Food was excellent. It just tasted fresh. Service was excellent. It is a short walk south from the circle where the hop-on, hop off buses drop you off. My... More

This restaurant is highly recommended especially if you are wandering around in Buda. After a walk in the Castle area it worths to go down the hill and to look for this tiny restaurant to have a delicious lunch. You'll see that this restaurant is all about creativity, both the design and the food too (Hungarian homemade style cuisine with... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
