My wife and I shared the steak tartare starter which was beautiful. We both ordered the pork knee main but it was too much for either of us. The knee (knuckle) was cooked perfectly and we had it packed up to go. Perhaps the waiter...More

About 20 of us had a large table in the upstairs room for dinner on a Tuesday night. Great Pilsner and dark beer flowed! All the meals looked good. Highlights that I tasted were the tartare appetizer, the flank steak, the goose leg and of...More

Had a Czech mixed grill with a number of different meats & dumplings. All good, but the “fat” dumpling wasn’t nice. Washed down with several pilsner urquell’s. Very good value food and drink & the staff were very helpful.

You can get quite nice czech meals and pilsner beer, but you can get yelled by the staff as well. Especialy if someone wants to pay by cash and rest of the group by card. Everythink is problem and they will make sure to show...More

One of our favourite places to soak up a local buzz and enjoy good wholesome food an superb beers. Thinking of something light?... don’t be fooled by the Moravian Sparrow dish as it’s piled high with a selection of meats and dumplings. Great Goulash and...More

Fabulous lunch! We stopped here twice on our break, once for lunch, once for dinner. Every dish we had was fantastic! The Moravian Sparrow was excellent and VERY filling, beware of ordering a big starter! Also had pickled sausage for lunch which was lovely. Great...More

The menu is marked with allergens and has plenty of options - also for gluten-free dishes. The prices are fair and the food was tasty.

Great food in the city centre. I'm going here with my Belgium collegues from time to time and we all were always satisfied. One of the best Pilsens in Brno.

Description
Excellent Czech cuisine, great atmosphere and best beer in Brno. The famous Stopek’s Beer House has always been one of the pillars of Czech social and cultural life in Brno. There has been a pub here since the second half of the 19th century. It became famous with the arrival of the new owner, the genius Jaroslav Stopka, who took over the original Jonak’s Beer House in 1910. Period advertisements always declared that the best Pilsner beer could be had at Stopka’s. The pub retained its character and atmosphere even after its extensive modernisation. The author of the facade of the beer house is Czech painter and graphic artist Lada Novak (1865 – 1944), a well-know Prague bohemian and also the author of the decorations on the U Fleku Pub in Prague, was also repaired and renovated. Pilsner Urquell and dark Velkopopovicky Kozel and Birell Light are all on tap.
