This restaurant is situated near of the city centre, several steps from the National Theatre. We looked their menu on web pages in advance, it seemed interesting. We made reservation and visited this restaurant on Saturday evening. Through the fact, that there was full up, service was prompt and friendly. Menu and also offered drinks had satisfactory wide choice. Served... More

One of the best restaurants in Prague. It is non smoking place. There is no annoying kitchen smell. The waitress was very professional, attentive and willing to help. The food was great and the prices are low compared to the area and type of restaurant. Restaurant specializes on French cuisine.

The food is french styled and good. I can recommend clams on white wine. Has some good french wines too. Good value for money.

Initially went in for a beer to escape the cold and because it was non smoking. Ended up going back for dinner and again the next night. Great service, lovely food, good value. Would recommend.

It was a coincidence, that we found this place. From outside it does not look like a superb restaurant, but the food is really great. We have had carpaccio (the big one), tuna steak, hanger steak, everything with ratatouille and mashed potatoes. As a dessert we picked chocolate paste. If you are an tourist and you like or want to... More

I've visited many times and the food is excellent. A nice cosy restaurant in central Prague, quite affordable and frequented by locals especially at lunch time during working days. The only drawback to me was the repetitive lazy waitress who I perhaps just a bit too relaxed, on her phone and not paying too much attention. I would still recommend... More

though it seems relatively obscure, Universal is consistently perfect. Steaks are grilled to perfection, sauce are spot on and the best Musle starter in Prague. Professional service and a nice decor makes this a perfect choice for a nice dinner out. It may seem a little expensive but worth every crown.

Really good food for a fair price! Friendly waiter! The only thing missing, was a candle on the table and red squarred table clothes, typical for a French bistro.

We came there with a very good slevomat voucher: for 500CZK we could eat for 1000 CZK. We were three and we had a green peas soup and a tasty tuna tartar (the salmon tartar as well). As main courses, we had a very tasty spaghetti with gambas, another with mushrooms and a big salad. You should try eat one... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
