AVOID AT ALL COST!!! They have no interest in customer a or customer service or even getting your business. We got such terrible service tonight it's unreal. I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience. Me and a couple of colleagues visiting Prague for business, stepped into this restaurant and asked for a table of 9, they... More

Three of us went for dinner and enjoyed it. I particularly liked the pork knuckle and could hardly finish it even though I had lots of help. My son had the bohemian variety dish and liked it as well. Prices were a little high but we enjoyed the experience. Service was efficient.

Ate here last night. We had the potato soup in a bread case and a main of salmon. Both were very good. We agreed with lots of reviews on here about the service. Some waiters were abrupt, miserable and bullying about gaining a tip (we moved seats and our original waiter was fine). It would be nice to think that... More

Was busy when we went but the waiters who don't speak good English found us a table. As with Prague, not keen eating next to smokers but food was high quality. Slightly more sophisticated than standard Czech fayre. Can recommend lamb shanks and pork fillet. Pilsner Urquelle was good, shame about the foreign students who were rude and inconsiderate to... My son got the grilled corn with potato gratin and broccoli in garlic sauce, delicious! My other son got a hamburger that he said was good. I had the Traditional Bohemian, it had lots of meat and dumplings, it was huge. It had ham and beer sausage that was delicious.

We had an early dinner here, and sat in the nonsmoking area in the basement (not as nice as upstairs but adequate). The Czech food was authentic and very good, and the portions massive. Contrary to previous reviews, the service was actually quite good. It is not a fine restaurant but a good Czech experience overall.

Service is very bad. They don't care about customers. Food is 4 stars. They serve only Pilsner Urquell beer. Stuff speaks very bad English.

We went here post a concert at the Spanish Synagogue on the advice from our hotel. I understand culturally that Czech people can come across as cold but here there wasn't even any service besides taking our order. Its more along the lines of a casual pub environment and meal. Portions were quite big and reasonable flavours. Big variety on... More

I visited the place on my first night in Prague. Chose it by coincidence, without reading any reviews in advance. I agree with what most reviewers say: the location, the food (we had ribs and pork knuckle) and the atmosphere were excellent but prices were a bit high and the staff could have been more attentive.

Nice atmosphere, good food and beer. We liked it very much. The home made sausages and goulash soup were excellent.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
