On the way back from visiting the castle, I stopped in here because of the date on the exterior (1358) for a quick beer and an afternoon snack. I see some bad reviews on here but I really liked it. The waiter was a real go-getter and covered the five occupied tables very well, great service! He rushed my beer... More

Good service and food. Lovely atmosphere. Staff very welcoming with great service. Very authentic and traditional. Can't agree with some of the negative reviews I've read. Food good value. Our bill had the 'recommended tip' but didn't get the feeling we had to give this when we paid.

just like the other reviews said, we were invited in by a man outside. since it was cold and we were getting really hungry, we came in. I opened tripadvisor and read the reviews of how they tried to overcharge people so I was already wary of the place. since we already sat down and ordered we decided to give... More

We were looking for a place to eat and escape the rain on our way down from the castle, and this was it. We entered after a large group left so the waiter was a bit stressed but kept a good service and was very nice. I took my first Czech traditional meal, the goulash in bread and it was... More

I´ve never had such a terrible experience on a restaurant. First of all the owner seemed unhappy to see tourists coming to his restaurant. When we made the order he complained that we ordered the cheapest dishes and that even one of us just wanted something to drink. Then he started being totally disrespectful sugested that he would rather prefer... More

The food is ok but each dish is served couvert in the price of CZK 30 even you don't eat this. When the bill come out, it said services not included but the waiter included it instead yourself. This is not the tips culture. If the customers are happy, they will tip for the services, not the waiter himself. Not... More

This place looks like a cute, homey place where locals would eat. We had high hopes, especially because it was one of the only places we had walked by with people eating in it...and some locals. Well, first of all...the Budvar beer on tap that is the original Budweiser is not that good, especially given the other beer options that... More

Very nice staff, 1 pound extra for very little alcoholic drink with bread which nobody informed about (and said on the beginning that was a gift). Food was great, garlic soup in bread, beer goulash and spicy meat in potato pancake (not mentioned that was spicy). Suggested tip added to the bill (but as we understood it was just suggested... Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
