We found this place by mistake while passing by and my gf wanted to use the bathroom during our walking tour , we decided to get just a beer and i ordered a home made beer after a few minutes in there we decided to return for our evening meal. The service was pretty ok, the decor very provincial and... More

We visited while staying nearby in accommodation booked by AirBNB. The restaurant was given as recommendation by owners of property. We were very happy with the quality of food and beers. The food was excellent quality and very large portions. Having taken a liking for dark beers while here in Prague ordered 2 large ones to have with meal and... More

Visited with friends, the offer of bears was perfect, but food very poor. So great place for a beer but not for dinner!

My wife and I visited after reading TripAdvisor. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere and environment were wonderful. The food did not disappoint either. I had rabbit and my wife had beef with cream and dumplings. All the food was full of flavour and piping hot. We had a beer each and only paid £15.80 in total.

This is not a luxury restaurant. It is a cosy place where you get good, authentic, heavy Czech food in big portions at a low price. I love to come here for the livance and the svickova. They also serve a variety of homemade lemonade and of course Czech beer. Lots of beer :-) For me a must on every... More

The food menu should come with a health warning for the portion sizes! Great Czech cuisine, really friendly staff, and some great beers to choose from. I would recommend the unfiltered, which seems to be their most popular, although my partner really enjoyed the stout. They also have really nice homemade lemonades and iced teas. It's a great little restaurant... More

We ate here, because of Tripadvisor gave hint this one is good place. Well, not in our opinion. Ate rabbit, totally boring, and potato-pancake with sauerkraut and smoked ham. Pancake was tasty, but the dish in general was dry and boring. Where was sauce or something like that? Why on earth this restaurant is so high in ranking of restaurants... More

Located along the main street Zitna, you won't be able to miss it. We ordered the rabbit and the pancakes and it was amazing.. Portions are HUGE and I have trouble finishing it. Beers were good as well.. Love the restaurant's atmosphere with lots of antiquities..

Good little restaurant if you are in the area. Friendly and fast service at a reasonable price for great portions! Not too many options for vegetarians, but that is to be expected in Czech!

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
