Ferdinanda is serves relatively simple but well executed fare in an underground cellar restaurant. The location is not difficult to find, although it lacks the visibility of a ground floor location. While underground, the place is painted clean and bright, and it has a slightly polished feel without being pretentious or stuffy. We stopped by for lunch, and found a... More

Skvělá restaurace na klasickou českou kuchyni, včetně poledního menu za 30+98 Kč. Porce veliké, chuť skvělá. I když je plno, servis a ochota je skvělá. Vřele doporučuji. Pub with really typical Czech cousine in natural form including own private beer. Very good price and perfect service. Warmly recommended.

Went to this restaurant for a light (and late) lunch because of the good TA reviews. We arrived at 3.25 and as soon as we sat down the guy came and told us that we couldn't have anything to eat as they were closing at 4.00. I then asked him for a small beer and a tea, he asked if... More

Many, many places in Prague offering goulash and the likes but found this one and it didn't disappoint. Goulash was on point, beers were liveo even got a free half pint with me meal. Spent the meal pondering why the Europeans don't just serve pints but that's another story. Took a while to get the bill but they was super... More

Great atmosphere, huge portions, nice and attentive staff, awesome prices!! We were lucky enough to the get a little "cave" and had a delightful dinner. Not elegant or romantic, but nobody expects that when planning to share a 2 Kg pork leg ;-) Only minus point: the potatoes (ordered an extra portion, they literally brought a tiny plate with 12... I went with my family (wife, mother, grandmother and sister). The restaurant is below ground level but it has a great atmosphere. We tried the beef goulash and the (massive) pork leg - everything was awesome. A full meal for us 5 (main dishes + drinks + coffee) was ~40€.

We found this little place using the TripAdvisor and weren't disappointed! After morning at the castle, we enjoyed delicious goulash (price included a beer). The atmosphere is relaxed with a mixture of locals on their lunch break and tourists. Highly recommended - although not the easiest to find on first impressions.

The food was delicious. We were in Prague for 3 days and went back a second time to get the pork leg! Ask your server for suggestions and they will steer you in the right direction.

The place is downstairs, nice ambient! The meal is not the best I have had. They brew their own beer, good tasty but I tried better beers in another place in town!

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
