ordered a rib eye steak - medium, never have had such an overcooked piece of meat, returned it, they came back with something similar, incredible... my other guests asked more traditional Czech disches, and they were satisfied, hence a 2 but for me only a 1 - maybe just not the right meat in their fridge?

To celebrate our anniversary we decided to visit the romantic city of Prague. Doing all our booking in line with the assistance of trip advisor we came across the Archibald Hotel. Conveniently located just off the Charles bridge this is a lovely wonderfully fitted hotel offering quality accommodation for the discerning traveler. Our room was beautifully finished, quiet and comfortable... More

The restaurant is located in the basement of the Archibald Hotel, just off the Charles bridge. It serves traditional Czech food. All good, all tasty. Apparently even Putin made a visit there to try their sausages...

We were guests in the hotel and had dinner here our first night. We had a sausage appetizer, the roast duck, and schnitzel. everything was delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The dining room is beautiful and so inviting, it made our first night in Prague complete.

We were staying at their hotel, and decided to have dinner there (I knew it would be a great experience again, too) as well - had local dishes and did not regret it a single moment. The duck is a must-try as it is really a very typical dish, but it is highly recommended you have a go at the... More

Came to this restaurant for the location: fantastic and unique view of the Bridge. The service was slow and inaccurate; the food is standard (on the "below average" side); everything is overpriced. We came to sit down and relax after a day spent strolling around; the waiters put pressure because the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes (at 9.30 pm!).... More

Stayed at the hotel so ate here twice and the food was very good. The setting, staff and food are all to a high standard. I had duck on one of the evenings and it was excellent and lots of it, it must have been half a duck in a plate! Can't fault this in anyway, you also get a... More

Excellent location, good food, friendly staff. Perfect for families and couples. We have stayed here twice, with our families, kids. It works out just perfect. Step out of the hotel and just walk around into the heart of Prague. Hassle free, close to the train station (taxi costs around 15 Euros). Perfectly located next the Charles Bridge.

Nice and cozy place, great architecture highlighted by the white-painted arches. Tried the pork knuckle, which was delicious and the portion was huge! The service was good, the waitress polite and attentive. WC clean and tidy. Fair priced dinner, as we paid 1050 CZK for a salad, a pork knuckle plateau, a crispy duck plate and two large beers.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
