I found this place a little out of the beaten touristic track. It looks like a genuine Czech place, food was good, cheap, but not much quantify (yet enough if you are not too hungry). Service is a little bit lazy, but that is normal in Czech republic. They add the expected tip to your bill, but that is OK... More

This was our worst restaurant experience in Prague. Unfriendly staff to the point of almost being creepy. Food was moribund and greasy. Lots of carbs. Very little green. Go over your bill very carefully. We were charged extra for the potatoes! Very classy urinals.

Quick review; cheap eats, tasty, good local white wine, not somewhere to go if you have a night or two as there is so much choice in prague, but if you're passing and need a bite its not a bad pace to stop.

The lady who greeted and served us was very nice, even though the food overall was not that good. For the same prices you can get much better. The older man who served the family near us appeared very rude, seemed annoyed when the family asked questions and when i refused to have another beer, he just frowned. Rediculous! This... More

Ate here the day we returned home, had goulash soup in a bread roll and baked camembert and chicken and chips and Bulgarian salad. The meals were nice and tasty although the bread was a little tough. all this food and 2 large beers for 599czk. We left no tip as the guy who served us appeared to be very... More

Their menu isn't that special, just some basic meals. Food was decent, fries were crispy, salad looked fresh. Waiters were friendly. The only thing is that they kind of force you to tip them 15 percent. On the bill they automatically add a "recommended tip" of 15 percent, so you have to ask if you want to tip less. We... More

The location is very close to the Charles bridge in a nice area to walk around. Portions were fair, taste was excellent and service was very good. What else do you need?

The food was really good (even though it was barely warm and looked like heated up in the microwave), but the service was disappointing and a 15% tip was added to the bill without asking anybody. I would rather omit this one.

I must say we embarked there, literally, out of the blue! While we were looking for some local, nice and traditional place to eat something Czech, we found this little bar/restaurant. I read no reviews about it ahead of entering there, and I shall say it went way better than expected. (Reading some reviews about it later on, made us... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
