This is a popular place. It is well laid out over two floors and has a large menu. We sat downstairs that seemed nicer than upstairs. Unlike many veggie places, this one serves alcohol as well as a wide range of smoothies and herbal drinks. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is ok, nothing more (although I... A friend of mine recommended us to eat at Maitrea and I was incredibly thankful for that tip. We had a grilled goat cheese/spinach/eggplant burger and a salad with grilled goatcheese, walnuts, grapes, dried tomatoes and olives and ordered a raw chocolate date cake for dessert. It left us speechless. We absolutely loved Maitrea!

We went here to try and find some Czech veggie food in a nice atmosphere. Sadly we were sat on a table in the hallway as they were full but upon request were quickly moved to a lovely table in the main room. The food seemed to have a worldwide influence rather than traditional Czech. I had the tex mex... More

Quaint little restaurant serving superb vegetarian food, high in quality, extremely delicious in taste! I am not vegetarian per se, but i dont mind being vegetarian if my food gets this tasty. Pretty easy to find with GPS, as it is tucked in one of the corners of the astronomical clock square. Would definitely go again the next time i... More

We are both vegan and so we're very impressed at the selection of vegetarian and vegan options in Prague. Maitrea was tucked away near the main square so in a great location and it was a real find! It was beautifully decorated and very relaxed and calming. We both had delicious meals and there was a large selection of vegan... More

It's not easy to dine vegetarian in Prague. Came upon this restaurant for lunch and it turned out to be our best meal of the week. I had the vegetable burger with BBQ sauce, my daughter had the goat cheese/spinach sandwich, and my wife had the spaghetti "bolognese" ; all dishes were excellent.

I recommend making a reservation, even for lunch, that seems to be a normal thing to do in Prague. Great food! My husband and I split two starters and had our own mains. Good amount of food and all really good! Staff was nice and helpful all seemed to speak some English. This is a place I would love to... More

Its such a treat to look at a menu and knwo that you can order anything from it. The choice was great, the food excellent, staff friendly and the prices were very reasonable. We went mid week and had made a reservation. I doubt we would have gotten seated otherwise as the place was very busy. A great place to... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
