It's the little things. Getting a small glass of water with your espresso, a waiter appearing just as you need them... an interesting menu, and a display of cakes to stare at as you wait to be seated! This is a lovely looking room. Beautifully tiled with a on old world splendour. It has kept it's charm and aged well.... More

Oppulant surroundings. I got the impression that this is where the locals take other locals to be wined and dined in style. Complusory tip included (if you mind that) but it was only the 10% I would have given anyway

We were encouraged to try this even though many of the same dishes were offered at our hotels restaurant ("Next Door at the Cosmopolitan") Beautifully restored art nouveau interior is a great setting for what turned out to be a fabulous meal. Our guide warned us that reservations were imperative, which proved true as it became busier as the locals... More

Skipped breakfast in the hotel as this place had been recommended by a tour guide. Wonderful decor in the place which was great to relax in and enjoy the experience. Plush to say the least. English breakfast was brilliant and complete with toast and coffee was very reasonable. The only downside was the sausage, definitely not English and far too... More

The amazing Art Deco mosaic ceilings and lavish tile work on the walls and columns make this cafe truly memorable. My goose liver pate and wild boar in red wine sauce were excellent. A wonderful way to cap our visit to Prague.

The rudest, most unwelcoming staff I've ever come accross. Terrible customer service. Obviously not a restaurant who welcomes tourists. Very, very poor!

We visited here for breakfast one morning as we were staying in Motel One hotel just down the road. The staff were very friendly and attentive and spoke good english. The breakfast was lovely, we ordered an english and an American. The decor is exceptional, with very detailed ceilings. Would visit again.

The interior is magnificent and suits well special occasions, but it's also good for just an afternoon coffee with cake. The service was very good, which is not typical Czech, the menu was interesting, well prepared and reasonably priced. Everybody mentions the choco bomb and it's really worth it. I've been several times in Prague, but didn't know about this... More

we chose the Czech options which were delightful and very filling. The service was lovely and the wine was good value. The desserts were massive. A lovely experience but so filling.

Enjoyed this very much. Decor was interesting (Moorish tiling?) and service was excellent. Food was served in a timely manner and well presented. My tuna main course was perfectly cooked with a tasty Niçoise salad. Not persuaded that the fennel crust worked so well but will definitely return.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
