Absolutely fantastic local pub, this a true gem of Prague, it is not a tourist hotspot but rather feels like a little local pub. A brilliant range of beers and a few that you won't find in places like the Old Town where big breweries are king, don't get me wrong, ALL beer in Prague is amazing but it's nice... More

Unpretentious, full of locals - always a good sign! - well-prepared food with huge portions. Good local wine. Menu in English if you ask for it and the waiter speaks acceptable English. If you are in this part of Prague, a great place to drop in, especially if you are looking for a place that is not heaving with tourists.

In this restaurant, I had a smoked meat with potato puree. Food was served to me very cold. Smoked meat was not home product (Tesco ?) = The meat was tasteless, potato puree = sad parody. Restaurave looks nice from the outside but I do not recommend visiting. Cuisine is terrible!

Great place, very affordable, but vegetarians will be dissapointed. Veprovo koleny is awsome, but be aware, one is more then enough for two persons (1 kg!!!). Beer is cheap and excellent. The best part is, that the place is not overwhelmed by tourists, but mostly populated by local people. Higly recomended if you visit Vyšehrad area.

This restaurant located off the street down a flight of stairs was perfect for a quick, good meal. It was located around the corner from our hotel, The Park Inn. Great chicken wings, beer, and satisfying. Nothing fancy, not big, and has outdoor tables, The locals seem to enjoy meeting, drinking and dining here.

Sitting outside in warm autumn sun every evening after visiting the tourist sites supping a £1 pint of stamopramen. A great wee cafe underneath the we emuseum at the Vyton tamstop. Try the grilled trout or Pork Knee (a Ham haugh). Cheap but superb place.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
