The Earle Arms is the focal point of this wonderfully unspoilt village. Like the village, the pub has changed little, thankfully unmodernised. It's a good choice for Sunday lunch, but that said, our experience was someone diluted by the long wait - shared by other diners - and the uncomfortably crowded feel in the main dining room and the bar... Sorry about the wait, we were aware of this. The problem was that not only were we fully booked but some tables decided to turn up late which put us behind. More

Very quirky pub., not huge range of food, but worth a visit. Tiny bar, with one lady seemingly running it and waitressing.

We had heard about this place so tried it for lunch. It was very quiet but we were welcomed and given a table in the bar next to a roaring fire. Fine selection of food at reasonable prices. I had venison sausages and mash which were excellent.

If I could pick this pub up and move it to my village I would!! If you want a modern clean cut setting probably not for you but if you want a proper English country pub then visit. Small and cosy with a wood burning stove in the bar. Allows dogs in the bar but not restaurant which is ideal... More

I visited the Earle Arms today with a large group of family members. We all had different meals and they were all very good. The prices were modest. The lady serving us was very kind and did not mention the fact that they closed at three when she served us coffee at three twenty. The building and the village are... More

* of us visited for lunch on the hottest day of the year. We sat outside and had drinks, it was a lovely peaceful spot in a pretty village. Our orders were taken and the choice was so good it was difficult to make a decision. Our starters came very quickly but the main courses a little longer. However the... More

Be advised to book a table well in advance for this delightful 16th century pub and restaurant. The food is delicious home cooked - gastro and offers a good range. A visit to the Earle Arms and Heydon is like stepping back in time - a truly wonderful village that preserves the essence of England.

Thought I would go to the Earle Arms for a cheeky early evening beer. Arrived at around 7pm. Table of eight and a two in the bar and another table of four in restaurant. As I arrived another solo bloke walked into the bar. Quick nod hello and we both waited a long five minutes for a barman to arrive.... More

Sorry you had to wait 5 minutes to be served, though we only had about a dozen diners in the bar the dining room was full, and the barman was a bit stretched. Obviously faster service is your priority I think you would be better sticking with Mc Donalds. Thank you so much for not coming back. More
