I love coming to the Horse & Jockey. The food is great. Not so keen on the roast dinners as the gravy seems a bit too bland (granules and nothing added) and yorkshires aren't homemade, but the steak and ale pie is amazing! Heard the...More

Stopped here for a light lunch whilst on the circuit of Rutland Water. Busy pub. Wide choice lighter meals and more substantial food. Reasonable prices. Good parking.

My husband (his birthday), myself and two friends had lunch at the Horse & Jockey on Wednesday 28 June 2017. Good meals, as always, although it was thought the chips could have done with cooking a little longer. The young staff are lovely and quickly...More

Called in for a drink, intending to stay for an evening, yet the barmaid couldn't give us any bread to have with our olives because it meant "wasting a whole baguette ". I asked her to possibly review this decision as clearly it was mad....More

We are sorry to hear about your recent bread and olive scenario but as we take all feedback seriously, we have discussed the appropriate path to take, should this ever re-occur.

A well run village pub with good food. It is clean and appealing, with plenty of seating outside at the front (sloping somewhat!). Recommended, and well worth a visit, for food, or drink, or both!

Enjoyed a lovely summers afternoon at the pub. Family and dog friendly. It was popular so finding 2 tables together was a struggle so I would recommend phoning ahead. Food was good. Good quality of beer. All round a nice summers afternoon.

This pub is delightful with lots of character but that's where it ends. It's wonderfully and very conveniently situated on the Rutland Water cycle track and very inviting when you're on the Rutland circuit, however, the staff are miserable and the food is amateur. The...More

You can walk from the pub to Egleton, using the Rutland Water cycle track, which is your most direct route. However you must note there is no lighting and this will take you through narrow paths of shrubs and trees along... More
