We celebrated a birthday with the Eastern and Western High Tea. Quality over quantity was our experience. Service wasn't great but the overall experience was worth it.

Having spent many happy childhood holidays at the Hydro, I was looking forward to going there again for high tea with a friend from interstate. The photos on the internet promised so much but we were disappointed overall. The fare on the High Tea menu...More

We weren't allowed to eat or drink there because we weren't guests. The place wasn't busy and the staff were quite pompous and rude. Would I go there if I was a guest? Based on how my friend and I were greeted being non-guests -...More

The food, service and ambience in this restaurant is just wonderful. We had a High Tea and two dinners there and we couldn't fault it. It was a real surprise as we're real foodies and highly critical really. We're thinking this is the go-to restaurant...More

The revival of the Hydro Majestic back to its former glory is commendable however the high tea in The Wintergarden restaurant is disapppinting in many aspects. From the plastic flowers in a vase of water with the tag still attached to indifferent, inattentive service but...More

This is the sort of thing you do once and never again. The restaurant is gorgeous but their chief aim in life seems to be to fleece foreign tourists. Yes you get a nice view but you can see that from the street. The rest...More

My friend and I would have been better to have headed to a local cafe and grabbed a coffee and cake. We would have enjoyed it more. We wanted to spend $155 and come away feeling like it was such a delightful luxury, that we'd...More

Went here on a Friday night, staying in Medlow Bath for a short holiday, as on its website the restaurant advertises itself as vegetarian and vegan friendly. On the phone to the restaurant we were told there was ample choice for vegetarians and asked if...More

Food and apple martini was great. Service needs a little work as we had to wait for a while for staff to finally come to our table so we could ask for the bill. We tried to get their attention several times. Overall rating 3.5/5.

Deciding that the traditional High Tea appeared to be a bit pricey for the content offered, we tried the 'Eastern High Tea'. What a delight, very fresh with plenty of Asian inspired treats to please our palates. Taking account also of the spectacular views over...More

I don't know but if that was the case it would make sense. The staff did appear to me to be trainees. If that had been public I would have congratulated the hotel for offering TAFE training. But it doesn't excuse the way I... More
