We had a wonderful time at the resort and the restaurant fine dining added to the experience. The menu has a good variety with Indian, sea food , and asian options.Continental options could have been more. The live music and the pleasant ambience adds to the mood,the restaurant is almost like a glass box amidst greenery so we get the feel of dining in the open. The staff team coordinator Urmila was also extremely warm and knowing our specific tastes she advised against certain items in the menu and suggested good alternatives. The pricing is definitely at par if not more than fine dine options in the mainland,but considering the remote nature of this location one should overlook this. They claim to use natural cow's milk as opposed to powdered milk available in most of the other locations in Andamans which was a delight.Portions were also generous and overall a worthwhile experience

Cozy place surrounded by greenery

This restaurant is located inside the Sea Shell Neil Island resort. The property is green and gorgeous and the restaurant is located amidst the tall Mohwa and Coconut trees which are populous on the AN Islands. The staff was very quick in their service and informed us properly on the availability of seafood and other items on the menu. We ordered the prawns ginger garlic (a Chinese preparation) which was really tasty and quite palatable by young children as well. Next, we ordered the butter garlic red snapper fish which was huge and also quite delicious and properly cooked. We also had the crab but it was a bit mushy (maybe over cooked), but was sweet. The side dishes were of good size and we were very full after our meal. In drinks, we tried the Apple Jack and Pina Colada, both of which were very yummy. The restaurant is on the pricey side, but if you want to have one splurge meal then you could eat here, it’s worth it.

Amazing culinary experience at Dugong , Sea Shell Neil

We had a sumptuous lunch at Dugong. Mr. Sudhir guided us well about menu and cooking style. With his help we chose to have crab mashala, Neil fish curry and home style chicken curry with rice. All the items were very tasty, and the crab mashala needs special mention. We had our dinner too and took french fries and egg curry. Dinner was pretty tasty too. There was buffet option as well. Live music wad going on and I must say the singer had a melodious voice and nice choice of songs. Beautiful ambience it was.

worst food that I have eaten in my whole trip to Andaman, We went to have dinner at Dugong restaurant on 22nd February 2020, We ordered Malabar prawn curry and malabar fish curry We literally have a sweet thick red colour thing which tasted awful, The waiter was arrogant. We only wanted him to say that the cook made a mess, instead he argued and was speaking arrogantly. Worst restaurant would request travellers to eat from a eatery just about 500 meters called Andaman Restaurant, we ordered food from there and had our dinner

Restaurant buffet

We were looking for good dinner place and we found Seashell in Neil island, been to the one in Port Blair and we already have good feeling about the restaurant. Surprisingly there was a buffet and the food was amazing, Chef Md.Raees came to our table and personally asked about the food and told us what fish they’ve put in the curry, such a nice gesture of him. Loved the food and ambience and more importantly generous staff.

Excellent service by Urmila and Asif and equally delicious food

I visited this restaurant for dinner with my parents. Urmila and Asif provided amazing service. We ordered Akari kofta, Neil special veg soup, dal tadka, phulka, tandoori roti and tea. Everything was 10/10. Akbari kofta and soup are must try. We felt very grateful to have such an amazing dining option on a small island like Neil where almost every grocery is imported. Hats off to the restaurant staff to maintain such an elaborate menu, pleasant service, great quality and taste of food.

Live music, amazing vibe, great food

We found this place by word of mouth for Live Music and dinner. I am glad to have made the effort to have visited this restaurant. Live music is amazing, the singer filled the place with joyful vibe. The staff is friendly especially Samim who offered to take out pictures too. We loved the food too. A must visit for dinner and music if you're in Neil's, just call and check for the live music before your visit.

The Perfect Meal

My wife and I stepped into Dugong restaurant for dinner after a long day of being rained in at our hotel. We were quickly greeted by Samim and Urmila, who offered thoughtful input on their food and beverage menus. They made us customized drinks, which we greatly enjoyed. We ended up ordering the garlic pepper prawns and chilli chicken , both of which were served hot and tasted delicious. Great ambience and experience, very unexpected for us but certainly worth visiting again!

Best place to stay and eat

The staff over here especially urmila and others are very good and make your stay comfortable by providing you good food with a broad smile. The restaurant has good food options and it's tasty and not very masaledar n spicy. The mocktails also good. Will definitely recommend everyone to book their stay here and if not stayed can have their food here.

Beautiful resort at Neil island

Great resort at Neil Island. The resort staff were very courteous & did accommodate an early check in. The rooms were very spacious & very well maintained. The property opens up to a beach which has rocks. The food was excellent & they could accommodate our request for preparing less spicy foods for the kids. Both Urmila & Arif provided lots of information on the sight seeing places in Neil island.

Good ambience, amazing staff, great food.

The Dugong resturant is part of the Sea Shell Hotels in Neil Island. We had complimentary breakfast as part of our stay which was a lavish spread with various cousine options. We also visited the restaurant for dinner and the food was amazing. Generous portions and really flavour-ful. They have live soft music and the singer has a really nice voice. Our servers, Urmila and Samim, always had a smile on their faces and were extremely professional and polite. Definitely recommend this place to have a cosy dinner/lunch with your family/partner.

Good food but grossly understaffed

Food was great. How do I judge a restaurant for food quality, I order their biryani. If their biryani is great, rest should have no problem. How do you rate a restaurant service? Check how many times you had to ask for water glass to be refilled. The more number of times, you have to ask, the worse is the service. Biryani in Dugong was excellent. One of the best. We tried various dishes, both veg and non-veg and the food was good. I had to ask for water glass to be refilled everytime. The service was poor. But the problem is with the staff strength. Imagine 10 tables to be handled by 3 people including taking room service orders, brining food, serving it, clearing plates,.... Sudip, Kannai and Ankit did their best and should be supported with a few more staff to improve the service. I hope management reads this and takes appropriate action to improve staff strength.

Best dinner in Neil Island

Came here for dinner after 6 day andaman trip. From food to service was totally mesmerizing and live music was cherry on top. Urmila, Ali and suvajit were beyond amazing service providers and chef Raju served us with mouth watering delicious food.
