Brilliant lunch stop, can't believe it's been over 10 years since I last visited! The location is idyllic, the Oysters are fantastic and the Gluiness isn't bad either. Can't wait to visit again soon.

Stopped for lunch on our way north and were not disappointed. Beautiful fresh crab on brown bread with salad, children's fish was beautifully prepared as well. Lots of comfortable seating, beautiful setting.

For two years in a row I have visited Morans Oyster Cottage particularly for the delicious and flavorsome food they serve. This year I tried the garlic mussels that just melted in your mouth. I had heard of their family generational recipe Seafood Chowder, so I began ordering seafood chowder as I travelled throughout Ireland, which provided some examples to... More

Returned to one of my favourite restaurants last week. The seafood platter as usual was excellent. Unfortunately the portion size has been greatly reduced. Just a hint of prawns. I would much prefer a return turn to the old portions even if they charged a little more.

Moran's is an institution of the area, and having experienced the wonder that is a good fresh Irish oyster from afar, we had to stop by. We didn't have a reservation, but found seats at the bar and enjoyed a meal in its pleasant surroundings. There is a broad seafood menu (you don't have to be an oyster fan to... More

Yesterday we were coming home from Ballina to Waterford and we had the brightest idea we've had in years. Stop for lunch at Moran's on the Weir. We were greeted by lovely staff who gave us a seat in the old cottage. We started by sharing half a dozen Irish Oysters. Simply delicious, now we were lucky on the 26th... More

Stopped in for a great fish fry on our way from Connemara to County Clare. The food is always delicious and the oysters, fresh. Lovely private dining room was offered by our wait staff and we gratefully accepted. It is the perfect way to end a day, and watch the sun go down on Galway bay.
