This is a lovely pub. Great outdoor seating area overlooking the river makes it a must in summer. Good service and well cooked food. Sticky toffee pudding is lovely

Great service. Starters good but Turkey and veg swamped in gravy; very off-putting. Childrens' meals far too large and plates also swimming in gravy which was far too rich. After scraping off as much gravy as possible, they still ate hardly any of the turkey etc. Considering the price paid, we were very disappointed. Also, gratuities already added to final... More

Visited as a family and impressed with the menu. Good selection and variety. Not impressed, though, that they did not have any tonic water. Their excuse - they have been busy over Christmas. Seriously, come on. They could even have gone to the local supermarket to pick some up! Anyway, my wife ordered a wine rather than the vodka and... More

Visited for lunch. Beautiful setting, lovely pub, efficient and friendly service but the food was disappointing. I went for the prawn and crab linguine. Five prawns and a small bowl. No crab in sight but the chorizo was nice. This annoys me because pasta costs pennies so why not be generous?? The tomato sauce was dry and lacked taste. The... More

We booked to eat here back in August and the 6 of us had a really enjoyable lunch laughing and joking about the years activities. The starters were amazing. Christmas Dinner for 4, Mushrooms for 1 and Roast Beef for 1 followed by Christmas Pudding and Roulade. Really very good and complimented by good company and superb attentive staff -... More

We came here for a girly Christmas catch up. The restaurant looks lovely and festive and we served straight away and shown to our table, we ordered some drinks and had a look at the menus we had the soup and squid to start, the tomato soup was nothing to write home about sadly a bit tasteless but the squid... This has been a family favourite over two generations and we have seen it go up and down a few times, but it's definitely 'up' these days. We booked for a celebration dinner for our daughter's engagement and they did us proud - surprise requests were remembered and they entered into the spirit. All meals were good except the fish... Went again this week with the same friends as before. Lovely place, lovely location, even on dull day. Nice decor, and good, cheerful service. All as before. But. Sad to say the food standard has dropped somewhat. Good choices on the menu, but the cooking of it left a bit to be desired. I'm not going into details. We never... More

Visited many times. Lovely location. The real ale is pretty good too. What lets itself down again and again is the service. Or lack of it. Twice I had to go and find staff to be served at the bar. They were clearing kitchen and chatting with mates, and how this place runs is beyond me. I shouldn't have to... More

Had dinner with friends here, Saturday evening. By the time we got there, the place was jammed and we thought we'll have to wait a lot for the food and drinks, however, everything was delivered in a timely fashion. I have to say - i was impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and the service spot on. Everyone enjoyed their... More
