This doesn't look like much from the outside - more like a take away than a restaurant - but looks can be deceiving. The range of options is good and authentically Italian rather than catering to the mass taste (you will not find chicken tikka pizza in here). Pasta and pizza were both good and desserts were also worth having.... More

Finally a restaurant who can make a classic thin base Margherita without adding extra ingredients or overloading the topping. Really enjoyed it and greedily ate every piece of that large sized wonder.

Oh gosh. I dont really like pizza but every now and then I relent cause my wife loves pizza. We were in Thames for the night and wanted to take fast food back to the motel and there was De Luca's in front of us. We each ordered a pizza each from this cosy little very Italian looking pizzeria and... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of the motel at which we were staying. We decided to buy wine there but on being seated we were advised by a very young, inexperienced waitress that they did no sell alcohol??? What. I then told her that I would go to the liquor shop down the road and be back... More

One of the best Italian restaurants we have visited. The food was fresh, everything (pasta, sauce, pizza bases) had been made from the basics and all dishes had been perfected. After inquiring over whether the couple that owned Di Luca's was Italian we were told they were 'just kiwi's' but had specifically gone and learnt from a professional Italian chef.... More

I had the average sized one and took home a doggie bag. The owner was very good at recommending suitable options

We came in late and ordered and the owner was very helpful and even kept the place open for a little bit longer for us to finish the amazing pasta dishes we ordered.

The place is nice, with an art expo. And the owner takes good care of you. But It's not enough ! The pizzas are really bad. Thick and not home-made base, not fresh ingredients. It's hard to pay 20$ for it ! And it was hard all night long for our stomacs.

I have been in New Zealand for 2 years now and have traveled many places and most places can't get thin crust pizza right. Di Lucas's Margherita pizza was lovely. I would happily eat this pizza every time I wanted pizza. Also the spaghetti bolognase was yummy too. Not too sweet and not spicy... Just the perfect balance of the... More

A family friendly pizzeria with a menu that has something for everyone including kids, gluten free and vegetarian options. We all enjoyed our pizza after a friendly welcome and service. The art work on the walls is lovely and we got to meet the artist. Just great.

Description
A warm ambient authentic italian style restaurant, perfect for dining with a group or just the two of you. We have a table outside during the warmer months for takeaway diners, and a nice takeaway waiting area. Located in the middle of town, there is plenty of parking. We are licenced and allow BYO as well. Buon appetito!!
